Hi Guys

Not sure how to respond to someone who needs desperate help...

"wow, for millionaires?
i'm broke. got $0.80 in my wallet :(
got $8 in my PayPal account, broke and need desperate help, have no money to invest, spend or pay for anything.
over $70 000 in debt!
- $70 000
how does one make cash before the bank takes everything?!"

How to help someone in this situation?

if they're about to lose their house, they can call the lender and ask for a loan modification.

Sadly, this is a situation many of us have encountered, either first-hand or know of someone in this situation.

This is where people have to get creative. There are some people, who will use that financial challenge as a way to drive themselves to succeed. Not many people would be OK with working a business without a stable income.

Each country is different, so it's a matter of looking into the different government resources that may be available. I am far from being patriotic, but I do recognize that the United States has numerous opportunities, it's just a matter of taking the time to do the research.

Another suggestion would be tapping into friends or family. Maybe someone would be willing to go in as a partner, where they supply the funds for a short period of time, while the other person does the writing. Where there is a will there is a way.

Thank for these suggestions Veronica.
I'm going to send this person a link to this post and maybe they can find some inspiration and solutions here :)

Wish I could just feed every hungry person and pay everyone's debts!
These stories really motivate me to work harder and be able to provide aid and opportunity to good honest people.

You have such a great heart, Kamil. We have a lot of hungry and homeless people in New York City, something I still don't understand. It's upsetting not to be able to help more people. You just do your best, Kamil.

It's the same here in Winnipeg, Canada! My husband and I buy homeless food to eat, but we don't give money in case we're enabling an addict! Buy buying them food and warm clothes for the winter makes sense to us! We taught our children the same, and awhile back my son took a homeless man to subway on his work break for lunch! Proud of the way my kids turned out! :)

Raising children who are thoughtful and compassionate is probably one of the most greatest achievements. That's so beautiful, Terry.

Thank you very much! :)

Good question. I had to file for bankruptcy.

Oh no Roger, I'm sorry to hear this!
It really seems to be more common that we realize.
Hope things are going to move in a positive direction for you.

There's only one way left to go when we hit bottom... up! ^^,

It's getting there.

ch7 or ch13? I'm just asking because I know someone who's about to pull the trigger on that

Are you struggling with anything in particular Roger?
Maybe I can help in some way.

My problem is putting time into the business.

7.

Wow! Did you pretty much have to just walk away from everything and start over?

Doctors bills are still coming over to the house.

I see

There are many different services available in all areas for help. If this person is a veteran there are many services available just for veterans. 211 is available in all states to help those in need and cover all areas, however, I'm not sure if it covers different countries I only know what's available in the US. Also, here in the United States you want to file a UCC1-308 and there are all kinds of information on how to do that on YouTube. A UCC1-308 will stop everything in its tracks as long as it's filed properly. These are the only things I can think of off the top of my head.

Thank you for your suggestions and contribution Deborah, every bit helps :)

I Think a "go fund me account" would help this person out. Then everyone could donate & "Pay it forward" to this person. Kind regards Jesse https://www.fundme.com/en/explore.

Wow, this is very helpful Jesse, thank you!
Lot's of folks on there needing help, hopefully they not scammers and real genuine people who need help.

God bless you Sir.

There plenty of people who have students loans and have bigger debts. Of course, there is no fun, but if this person is healthy, he or she can find way up. How about WA?

They have no money to pay the $49 per month. They say they can't invest anything.
Do you think they could make money right away?
I have been struggling for 6 months to make my first sale, not sure WA would be the right solution at this point... I could be wrong but that's how it all started. "I can't join cause I have no money and -$70 000".

I feel bad for that person.

a situation like that can happen to anyone. nobody is immune.

Yes, it seems most of us are in this position, some a bit better, some worse but it's so interesting to see how good people will chime in to lend a helping hand and suggestions, very grateful for this :)

This is too bad.

Yes, I feel really bad for this person, can't imagine having that debt!

I would click like for you, but this is a sad situation! :( is he or her a part of a church? Sometimes churches pull together to help someone out in the church or the community? Where does this person live?

I take it they live in the States , using US currency but not 100% sure.
-$70 000...
I can only pray for them.

I'm from Canada, so was asking for that reason to try and get some churches together to help out! I have done that before!

Local churches have programs to help people until they get on their feet. There are soup kitchens and such. Employment specialists and such

sorry..just saw your post..lol..we're on the same wave length..hahahhaha

Great minds think alike! You both rock!

Cheers!
Don

but how to help this person retain their home?
The bank will take the house it seems.
Soup kitchen is a great idea Grant! I will suggest this.

When people are in an emotional state just about to lose everything they might not be thinking straight either. Shame :/

I don't know where this person lives, but in the US the bankruptcy laws can give a fresh start, sometimes keeping the home. I'm no expert but that might be worth looking at.
