are you working in the classic editor or the newer block editor.
they work completely differently.
your theme may put a paragraph tag around your paragraphs - a lot don't
and when inserting images these are added inside the paragrapgh.
so when you cut and paste the text it gets confused.
what may make it easier is to look at your page in html to see what is going on.
at the top of the editor pane is a tab called text, click on this and you will see how your article is constructed.
the images are references to files so (a href="file location")
see if they are enclosed in any other tags.
but i think it is something you may have to live with with that theme. ( setup a test site and try another theme to see if it does the same thing)
i would say it maybe easier going to the block editor.
i have done some training on adding images to the block editor Adding Images To The Gutenberg (Block) Editor if you use the column method then your images will stay where they are.
good luck

You could try using the site content area
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/content
and then publishing it to your site.
See if that works any better. You're able to add images as well.
All the best

Hi
This might be a silly question but just wondering when writing a blog /post what does it mean add Tags ? ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐
Many thanks
I found this answer in Google:
"A tag is more specific and addresses items you discuss in a particular blog post. A tag is usually only a word or two and reflects the keywords or points of your article. If categories are your blog's table of contents, tags are your blog's index".
However, tags do not influence SEO in any way, it's usually only a word or two that reflects the keywords or points of your article.
Hope this helps ๐
