I'm running a makeup blog, and I have seen a lot of beauty bloggers put several different affiliate links in one post - for instance, if they're reviewing several products at o

I'd say it's okay. In the end you are trying to help your reader buy the product ;)

Search engines don't really like many affiliate links especially on new sites. You are probably better sticking to three max until the page can get ranked.

More established sites can get away with more links. Instead you can split the products into two separate pages and link them internally so that they are ranked separately but readers can easily find all the products - if that makes sense.

Yes, that makes sense! Thank you :)

I think you have no other choice, so yes add your links but make a good text and you will be fine with it.

I have tried following a few of the existing tutorials on this subject and can't figure it out! I want my privacy policy and disclaimer in the footer, but I think my theme (SKT

As you mentioned, if a theme does not support footer menu than there isn't much you can do unfortunately.

Yes, use the Custom Widget like Shawn is mentioning. First you need to build it under the Menus.
Go to Menus and find and click "create a new menu" name it Footer or something that will tell you that is what it is for. Now put in the articles, privacy policy, About me or what you want in the Footer. Save it.
Now go to Widgets>Custom Widgets and then Footer at the bottom and the dropdown.
You will see a window pop up. There "select" the Footer menu you made for Footer.

See if that gets you going in the right direction.

I followed you all the way to Widgets, but I don't see a place to make a custom widget :(

When I click on Custom Menu, the only location that drops down is "Blog Sidebar." This is what my screen looks like:

I see that your theme is different than mine. My widget for Custom Menu has the whole range of choices. I do see in the left black sidebar under Appearance "Footer Text." Have you tried that avenue?

You can create as many menus you want but the theme will only show one chosen for your primary or header menu, which is what they mean by only supporting one menu.
You may, however, use a custom menu widget and put that in the footer, or side bar for that matter.
You may use more than one custom menu widget thus you may make as many custom menus as you require, just name them accordingly, like upper side bar right, footer left, etc.....
Each widget will give you a drop down for choosing which menu you have created for that widget.

Okay, so I have made a new menu, but when I click on "custom menu," it's not giving me an option of putting it in the footer. This is what my screen looks like. Where do I go from here?

What that means is that theme does not support a footer widget area. Many free themes do not allow it unless you upgrade to the paid version. There are free themes that offer it, but you will have to look around for them.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for your help!

Kailey, some features are not so important and can always be added later. Footer being one. The best thing is get articles with various keywords into your site and pick up and add the the problematic add-ons later. If you have the top menu organized that is important for SEO.

I have come up with two or three niche ideas that all pique my interest pretty well, however I'm not sure if they're too broad. I love doing makeup, I care about the environmen

I know that make up is a huuuuuge market with a lot of potential (just look at all the make-up vloggers) ;)

I think you could also add feminine products after you get the make up site going good. Or have a link on your make up site to a blog for the feminine products. Just a thought. :)

That's a really good idea. Thank you!

Cruelty-free makeup in my opinion is most suitable to your three top choices. It's not too broad, and the products sell well in the market :)

Thank you so much! I've probably spent too much time thinking about it already so I really appreciate your input! :)
