Thank Anne McIntyre, for sharing your experience to make me a better gardener in Los County. Growing and using quality ingredients to create nutritious meals. There is something about gardens and gardening that is almost compelling. When growing edible and health-giving plants and flowers, it is possible to create a place note only of beauty but also of purpose. A garden can be a place in which to sit and relax, and it can also be a place to put your heart and your back into and reap the rewards.

There is immense satisfaction to be gained by tending a garden, and perhaps even more from growing your own food. Not many pursuits in life can keep us fit, remove stress, lift our spirits, and produce a wealth of nutrient-packed and toxin-free fruits, herbs, and vegetables.

Reflect using the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone

I seek to review the margin error of using the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map to learn how our local farmers in California share growing different crops throughout multiple ecosystems in the state. As a citizen, I grew up in a dense urban environment, which could impact the growing quality of fruits and vegetables. Would following our local farmers' who customized their own seasonal calendar be a reliable reference to grow our own food?
