How Do You Get People To Buy?

I've been doing the affiliate marketing game for a while now. I started in 2016 and it took me 3 years before I got my first sale... Not even kidding... Wealthy Affiliate helped me understand how to blog and build a wordpress site... They also helped me learn a lot of SEO and how to get people to inquire on my blog posts. However, clicks don't equal sales...

Just because people are interested in my affiliate product doesn't mean that they are going to buy from me. Think about it... I might warm them up, but what if they leave my page, do a little research, ask some friends and then use someone else's link to buy it. Unless there is a tracking cookie on your affiliate link you lose that sale.

Basically, you can skip over that process and have them buy right away by building a relationship with them.

That's right! People don't buy if they don't trust you. You can make your blog and website look professional as possible, but if they don't know you, they don't trust you. That means that you could be losing a lot of potential sales just because you aren't utilizing the most important tools.

Sales Funnels Are Crucial!

Now, like I said, it took a few years for me to figure it out, but once I did the sales came rolling in! It's a simple system, but people often avoid it, because it seems spammy to some...

  1. You need to stop sending them directly to your affiliate link. You need a capture page and an email responder. By collecting information from them you now allow yourself the chance to follow-up with them and build a relationship. An automated email puts you in the mind daily, so when it comes to making a purchase they're more likely going to buy from your suggestion, because they know you and are familiar with you.
  2. You need to build a platform and have them join you there. Facebook is great, because you can make niche targeted private groups. This allows you to build a relationship very fast. For example, My newest Facebook group allows people to learn marketing strategies for free. When people join they learn niche targeting techniques and different ways to earn money with marketing. By being a part of the group they are more likely to buy something when I suggest it... Trust is built and that works a hundred times better than sending them directly to an affiliate offer. (Please feel free to join)
  3. Now that you've built engagement and trust you should have an up sell. Something that goes with the product they just bought. By having your automated email stream setup you can continue to sell to those people that are part of your affiliate family.

Ethical Bribes For Better Engagment

Don't be afraid to offer something of value if they buy through your affiliate link. If you have a digital product that you can give away, like an ebook or some PLR in your shared niche offer it to them after they buy with your link. Being honest up front about being an affiliate works wonders! People appreciate your honesty and generally want to help you if you help them. People that try to hide the fact that they're affiliates seem sleazy and sketchy... Am I right?

When you offer them that ethical bribe get them to engage with you some more on a personal level. Give them your personal email address or ask them to tag you in the group... By offering your human side they are way more likely to buy from your link in the future too!

Education Is A Must!

If you can create an educational platform on top of your blog you can build that trust 10 times faster! For example, I offer some free membership sites that have training available within the marketing niche. It's available to anyone that is looking to get more conversions and make more money. That course combined with my Facebook group allows me to help them if they get stuck on anything. Am I giving it to them for free? Am I helping them for free? Yes, but I'm also building a relationship with them. Even if they don't buy anything right away... They a lot more likely to buy from my links later.

Now, with all of that being said... You do have to go out of your way. As the law of attraction dictates, you get what you put in. So, the more people I help, the more people buy from me. It's as simple as that.

Please feel free to join my Facebook group and take my starter course. The links are on the bottom right corner of my profile page. I also have webinars that you can watch that will help you along this marketing journey. Of course there are affiliate links along the way, but you don't have to buy anything from me. I just want you to gain as much value as possible!

Hope to talk to you soon!

After reading your post ... I was shaking my head when I noticed only 2 people "Like This" ... What an Awesome post. I agree with you about the difficulty of tracking clicks that end up not equaling sales immediately.
Promotion is only part of the marketing mix, and only a small percentage of people will buy directly from an an affiliate link immediately.
Having a way to continue building that relationship is really important. You provided excellent suggestions and tips for elevating my affiliate marketing strategy. Thank you!
