should I put affiliate links on all my pages or should i link most of them to one or two reviews with affiliate links?

I have always included affiliate links in my review posts, but many who are smarter than me say Google will be more generous to you if you are linking to another page first before sending them on to the destination.

Affiliate links on on my reviews?

Ok so i've downloaded Filezilla i've gone through the walk through on WA and i get it. Its not hard to use.

When i went to drag my image file from my computer to FileZil

Hello everyone, just wanted to update you all. First, thanks for all the support with my issue i am extremely grateful for that. The issue I was having was something very, very small. They say attention to detail is very important and I can't help but agree. There was a point in the video where the instructor click on the httpdocs file and i missed it every time. So, instead of clicking on that file i was trying to add the photos to that area instead inside httpdocs.

It pays to pay attention!

Glad you got it figured out! And, thanks for sharing!

Are you trying to upload the image file to the right folder? Make sure you're putting it into wp-content > uploads and then into a new folder which you create.

I followed the instructions above and everything is all good now. Thank you

Support got back to me as said:

"We have tested your login details and they work fine at our end.
Make sure no Firewall, Antivirus, router firewall is blocking FTP ports and make sure that you use the Active FTP mode in FTP client.

We have installed the plugin Add From server on your website.
Once you upload the images to the specified folder, login to your WP-admin area >> Media >> Add From server and select the files you uploaded so that they can be added to Media Library."

Any clue how to check if any of those are blocking FTP ports?

What do you use for a firewall or antivirus? I know one time I was having issues with FTP when I classified my internet connection in windows as "Public" instead of "Work" or "Home".

Usually most firewall antivirus programs will have some sort of whitelist option or allow you to turn them off temporarily for testing purposes. If you turn them off and no longer get the error you know that the firewall and/or antivirus is the issue.

Great suggestion ThomasPaul

Hello Thomas, thanks for responding. I am using the windows bit defender and avira

I would definitely try turning them off temporarily. Also, will Filezilla let you transfer files from WA hosting to your computer?

Do you have a friend that you really trust and would let you borrow their computer? You might want to try to install Filezilla on their computer and see if you are having the same issue on their computer.

This might be of some use as well:

I'm interested that you were getting the constant HTTP error because that was happening to me and support told me to use FTP which I haven't learned yet

But I saw Kyle recently tell someone they shouldn't be having this problem or need to use FTP, so I asked him myself and am waiting for his second reply, as he also told me it should not be necessary

my files are all sorts, they don't even need to be renamed, they are affiliate banners, pings, pics, mostly without names...and all of which were fine before till a few weeks ago...

Hey Moz, has Kyle gotten back to you?

The format can also not be compatible. Have you tried several images different sizes to make sure it is not that.

Hi Justin,
I just did some research on the error that you are reporting.
You could find the same information that I have by doing a google search for "filezilla error 550".

It appears that it might be a permissions error where filezilla doesn't have permission to write to the drive of the server.

I don't have a quick solution for you, but, I would suggest you contact support if your site is hosted here.

They likely have seen the problem before and can give you a relatively quick resolution.

In any case, please do post about the issue when you get it resolved so we all can learn from your experience.

Happy to try to help you further if you think I can..

Sincerely,
Tom

Try renaming the file.

Hello everyone if someone could point me in the right direction i have a question..... do i need to use a plugin like woocommerce or just the bestazon plugin if i only want to

You need the plugin only if you want to collect more Amazon affiliate accounts into one link, otherwise no need if you have affiliate account with only one Amazon store.

Woocommerce is something totally different, you do not need it for Amazon in any case, but you can use it.

Thank you very much for the response ;)

Justin, you don't have to use any plugins. You can just use a normal link using your affiliate link from amazon.

Thank you so much Eddy!

You're welcome Justin
