Adding image on sidebar, my easy way...

Last Update: March 10, 2014

Not sure if this is in the WA training but, I went ahead on my own cause I was so anxious to do it on my website, so I went and did my research. There's a training here in WA on inserting banners on the sidebar, you can always check it out and get the idea. Just found an easy way to add my own image.

There was ways online showing me how to do it but, for some reason It didn't show where and how they were getting the text/code for the picture that they're putting on sidebar. Here's what I did.

1. open a new page

2. put a picture that you want to add on sidebar on that new page (by the way, I'm using text on sidebar widgets)

3. once you put the image that you want, click text and copy the whole code.

4. go to appearance and open widgets

5. click on the text you want to place the image in.

6. just paste the code on the text and save

When you check your website your image should appear on the sidebar. You can always adjust the image on the page you created it in and copy that code and paste on the text. When you're done inserting the image on your sidebar, you can always delete that page you created for that project. Here's the link of Kyle's training so you'll have a better idea on what I'm talking about. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/adding-a-wa-banner-to-a-wordpress-sidebar-widget

Hope this helps any new member in WA who wants to get creative in there website. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Aloha,

June

June, I like using the sidebar once I can get it the way I want it. I'm trying to free up more of my time, because using banners will be a great access to what I will be accomplishing.

Ricardo, I have my profile picture on the sidebar so people can see right away who is behind the website. I added a banner right below it using another text

Yea, I got it last night by hitting control + c, don't know why I didn't think about that at first, but right clicking wasn't working. Thanks for the help, and the article!

For some reason i can't copy the whole code when i do this. Every time I right click the code is no longer highlighted and 'copy' is not an option. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey Chris, sorry for the late reply. I guess it's the time difference. When you created a page just for the picture, did you click text on the right corner? If you have windows, click the text button when the image is there and click in the box where the code is. Try control a, that should highlight the code, then control c, that should copy the code. When you get to the widgets for the side bar, right click and paste. I did have a similar situation once when I tried to copy and paste a link and it wouldn't let me. After I turned off my computer and did it the next day it was able to. Let me know if it's still not working for you.

Your welcome, I thought it would be pretty cool to put your own image on sidebar as I've seen it on other website.
