In every success achieved, there is always a goal that preceded it. However, sweet success comes from a SMART Goal.

What is a SMART Goal?

S - pecific

M - easurable

A - ttainable

R - ealistic

T - ime-bound

Specific

Your goal must be specific, otherwise, it is not a goal. You must identify what it is exactly. It should be precise.

If it is a money goal, you must specify how much? It is 10K per month? 1M per year?

If it is a material thing, identify what is it precisely? Is it a car? What brand? What model?

It must be specific

Measurable

The second element for a smart goal is that it must be Measurable. A goal must not be just any amount or anything. It should be measurable.

If it is money goal, you must be able to count it. Can you measure $10K per months? Can you measure $1M per year?

If it is a material thing, there must be a size or shape of it.

Attainable

The third component of a Smart Goal is that it must be ATTAINABLE. Make it sure that it is achievable because if you cannot achieve it, you cannot attain it.

When you are just starting, do you think $10K per month is attainable? If it is not, then start with $5K per month or even $1K per month.

Realistic

The fourth component of a Smart Goal is that it must be REALISTIC. Don't shoot for the moon. Make it realistic enough.

Is $5K per month realistic? Then go for it. Do you think $2K is more realistic? Then go for it.

Time-bound

The last thing that you need to remember about setting a Goal is that it must be TIME-BOUND. It must not be forever. There should be a dead line to achieve it.

If you want to earn $100K, there must be a time when you are going to get it. Would it be from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017? There must a time frame for its achievement.
