I am in the process of re-branding and my brand name will be changed. How do I go about changing my domain name from julzeclecticmix to say handmadejewelrybyjulia?
You would need to purchase the domain handmadejewelrybyjulia.com
You can then transfer the files from the
previous name to this one.

I have recently transferred my domain from Bluehost to WA and it's still in progress.
However, the domain is still hosted by Bluehost. How do I get my domain to be hoste
I did that and received an email to say that my transfer was successful but Bluehost is still the primary host of my domain. :(
Regards
Julz
I think I have managed to answer my own question!
At the right side of the domain list, there's a drop down menu and there's an option to enable hosting. I clicked it and now WA is hosting my domain.
I think this should be it.
:)

Hi all
At the moment, I am using Shopify for my business website. Although it is quite easy to use, I find that paying US26 per month is escalating my cost. Furthermore
Unfortunately, you're going to find that a lot of the features you want are paid upgrades which you only get a year of support for before you have to pay for them again or risk having them not function. Just afew of these upgrades and you are already at the level of what shopify costs.
Shopify is PCI Level 1 compliant, while that doesn't make your business compliant if you use them, it does make it easier for you to be PCI compliant if you are running an e-commerce store.
I haven't heard anything about WA's hosting being PCI compliant, so I doubt they have been through the PCI process. If there hosting was PCI, compliant then I think they would be using that as a selling point.
Getting PC1 compliant is about $49/year that I use for woo commerce, that still going to be cheaper than Shopify.
I'm afraid you can't just pay to be PCI compliant. Have you gone through a Self-Assessment Questionnaire(SAQ) for your business? Have you obtained a SAQ fromeach company that performs functions that affect credit card holder's data security?
If you haven't done those things, among other things, then you're not PCI compliant.
Thanks!!!! If I decide to transfer everything to WA, I need to do it fast before the festive season!
Take care!
Cheers!

Is woo commerce working well for your website?

I have just installed a pop up on my website. I have set it to pop up all the time, except when someone has already clicked it.
When I went over to my website to do a te
I find instant pop-ups extremely annoying and I will leave the site immediately. If I'm visiting a small niche website, probably for the first time, what would motivate me to sign-up as a subscriber when I've not been given any opportunity to view the content or make a quality assessment? My answer to that is "nothing". The only pop-up I might consider at some point is something small that pops up only when a reader is leaving. At that point, you have nothing to lose. If the visitor liked your content, having had an opportunity to check it out, they might be interested enough to respond.
I find these popups completely annoying and I always leave the site straight away if they start popping up constantly. If I ignore it once then I expect it to be ignored completely and if it pops up again I'll leave.
When I see this annoying thing my only concern is how to close it, or I just to leave the site. Cannot understand how anybody can be willing to sign up for this after being so irritated. Do not have them on my sites.
I do not. I know this is not clever, but this is how it is. I am in a niche where I do not see how this could work, have nothing to offer in return for signing up etc. This is not WA promoting or anything similar.
But I would comment on what John says: "they convert". Do they really? You will never know how many visitors you have lost when they come face to face with this ugly popup. Perhaps more of them have left than what have signed up. I have never seen somebody discussing this issue from such a perspective. One thing is sure, everybody hates it. Have you ever signed up that way?
Interesting.
It depends on what websites I'm in and if I am interested in what they have to offer.
I do see your point of view. That's why I am also contemplating having the sign up on the side of the website rather than a pop-up.

Julz
I have seen some set it to appear only when people are about to leave the post. If the sidebar is wide enough then yes I would put it there. But I am not an expert in this.
It can be irritating, but they do convert.
I have set mine for about 2 minutes, if they are still on my site at that stage they are pretty engaged with the article and there is a good chance they will opt-in. :-)
Cool. On the other hand, perhaps they may just click it to stop it from irritating them! hahaha...
Cheers!

Can someone share your experience in getting your first referral(s)?
Do you start to ask people to join you even though you have not earned any money yet or do you start
This sounds like chicken and egg question, which comes first. I guess you promote what you have achieved or about how easy building a site is and start an online business, about selling stuff online.
If you write about success of others, you can expect a question hey what about your own.
True, but it also helps to make WA a more legit site than others.
Your suggestion about the ease of building a website is a good one. In the past, I hate to use Wordpress because it is very difficult to understand and navigate on its own. But through WA, I've come to like WP better. Whenever I have questions on WP, I can simply ask the WA community or google it. Tons of information at the tips of my hands!
Cheers!
Fantastic question. Why should I promote WA if I haven't made any money myself? You haven't made money but you know people in WA who are making money everyday with their referrals. Find people in WA who have been making money with referrals and use them as a reference source. Hope this helps.

Yes, Ken is correct. You cannot change a domain name once you create it
