This text and HTML code is visible on my website underneath the post a reply box, but I can't see where it is to delete it, Anyone got any clues ?

You may use these HTM

Sorry, Julie, not got a clue.

I think I have found the coding in the comments.php file, but still can't figure out how to edit it.....

'comment_notes_after' => '

' .
__( 'You may use these HTML tags and attributes:', 'ascent' ) .
'

' . allowed_tags() . '
'

If I put (display:none;) after . allowed-_tags, the whole comment area disappears.

Tricky, you can mess up the complete theme doing that, try it on a test website

I believe here is your answer in the comments below

Hi Loes,

I've tried following Buck's suggestion in this post, but my styles.css file doesn't have the class name .form-allowed-tags (could also be ".comments-area .form-allowed-tags" or another variation of that) or I'm looking in the wrong place for it.

Confused of Scarborough !

I see that's a post and comment of 4 years ago, it can be changed. You can contact your theme support and ask them how to do this

What theme are you using?

HI djriver,

The theme I am using is Ascent

Ok, you have an area in your customizer:

Go to appearance, then customize, then click on the additional CSS at the bottom. This is where you can put CSS code to make minor changes without causing any real problems to your theme.

Copy and paste the code below in the box provided in that area. I tested it on a demo site first and it seemed to work. Let me know. (If you want to make this disappear I mean. I am assuming you do based on your comments to others?)

Oh also make sure you click the blue button that says publish at the top of your customizer after you put this code in to make it work.
Use this code below:

p.form-allowed-tags {display: none;}
div.alert.alert-info {display: none;}

Perfect. Thanks djriver. Worked a treat.

Good to hear. Thanks for letting me know :)

The code didn't show up on this question but I know what you are talking about.

That is telling people what kind of info they can enter into the comment box. They can put text or any of those HTML bits of code when they leave a comment.

It is possible to hide this but it takes a little CSS code to do it. Alot of themes hide that for you but some don't.

It is okay to leave that there, it just may not look nice to you :)

If you need help removing it, I am willing to help.

It's a theme thing. I can't remember how to get rid of it but if you go to wordpress.org and use the search box you'll find instructions.

I can't see any code above, but normally when html is showing it's because a tag isn't closed properly.
So look for a missing > somewhere

I Know this is not a get rich quick scheme and I'm here for the long haul now that I've found WA, but as of yesterday a Joint Venture I was going to enter into is not now going

Think that you will be very lucky to do it, but if you do not try you will certainly fail, so give it a go girl.

I agree with Robert, that is a tall order especially with little experience. Many here are excited to receive few hundred dollars within a few months.

I don't want to say impossible because anything is possible if it all falls together.

Good luck!

That is a big ask Julie and to be honest with you and based on my own experience I don't believe it can be done simply with marketing.
There are ways to generate 3 or 4 thousand a month but you don't have the experience or the money to invest short term.
I'm sure there will be other members who will offer advice and you just might get lucky but don't hold your breath.
Robert

Thanks for your reply Robert

You don't want to lose your home so hope you find a solution to your problem.
Robert

You have the right and privilege to contact Kyle and Carson in person using PM to ask them for the best advice, I would take up their offer with both hands. They are the ones who can really help you and give you proper directions.

Thanks Loes

Hi Julie
That is an extremely ambitious target in a relatively short time.
Can it be done?
I'm sure it can but you may struggle as a complete novice.
If I was you I would do the training as fast as possible but not leave off one tiny step as each is essential.
Try to find an expensive product to promote so that your commissions are high. It is easier to promote something in a field that you are interested in or would like to become interested in which obviously makes the research and writing that much easier and enjoyable.
Best of luck

Thanks for your reply

My pleasure and sorry it isn't more encouraging. Just don't give up.
