How do YOU enjoy your present?
One of my mantra's is every day is a gift - that is why it is called the "present" and often we do not fully appreciate each individual day as just that.

Sometimes we're waiting for tomorrow or next week/month/year because we have something earmarked for those dates, and other times we are longing for our yesterdays because we have good memories of those days.
Today 31st January is National Hot Chocolate Day which is doubly great because it falls on a FriYAY - today truly is a present!
Hot Chocolate is a favourite way to drink milk in our house. At a recent Christmas market we purchased orange flavoured hot chocolate, it was divine and there is not much of it left now.
I remember when we endured the "Beast from the East" in 2018 we ran out of hot chocolate, for the first time. Ireland was engulfed in snow for a number of days and we all enjoyed playing in the snow and making igloos and snowmen. The only way the children heated up was to drink lots of hot chocolate ;-)
I think Hot Chocolate might have orginated in America but I'm fairly sure it has since become a global drink symbolising a way to drink a cup of comfort and warmth especailly during the cold weather months. Let's face it once you start to sip that hot beverage your body heats up from the toes up.
But, did you also know that drinking choloate is good for you? Chocolate in it's own right contains many vitamins and minerals added to that the antioxidants for a healthy body boost.
And the scientifc research suggests that when we drink this hot beverage the chemicals makes the brain release endorphins and serotonin, which in turn stimulates feelings of calmness.
The neurotransmitters that are released work to reduce pain and stress, keeping us worry-free and happy!
Hot chocolate is clearly happiness in a cup.

One of my favorite winter drinks is hot coffee with cocoa mixed in. Double hit, caffeine and chocolate.

I haven't had hot chocolate for years. I remember when we used to go swimming with the school. I would be straight to the vending machine afterwards, for hot chocolate, Good times.
I gave up milk chocolate just over a year ago but do allow myself the odd piece of dark chocolate, if I've been good. đ

I don't any longer but used to when I was younger. I love almost anything chocolate, have one on me. Very nice Post.
