What Would You Do?

Let's play a little mind game.

Imagine this:

As of right now, your online business is THRIVING. You are making all the money you could hope for.

All your debt is paid off as well.

Feels great doesn't it? Feel free to enjoy the feeling for a moment.

But now what?

We all have our reasons for starting an online business. The "Why".

For many, like myself, one of the driving forces is to get out of the regular working life.

Either we feel it's too stresfull, takes up too much of our time or isn't producing enough income. Or maybe we are simply bored with our jobs.

But have you ever taken a minute to think about what would you actually do if you had all the money and time in the world?

What Would I do?

Recently I've been thinking about why I actually yern for more time. What do I actually want to do with that time?

Just sit back and relax with drink in hand like in my picture? That would be fun. For a day.

1. I Would Educate Myself

If I didn't have the time constraints that a full time job and creating an online business cause I would dedicate a significant amount of time in learning new things.

I would likely pursue an academic degree or two. I might even become a researcher.

Being a researcher and living off of grants is not fun. I would do it pro bono but I would pick only projects that interest me.

There are several fields I have interest in. I've thought about pursuing at least medical science, applied physics, environmental sciences and information technology academically.

I'm also interested in mythology, spirituality and even the paranormal. If I had the time I just might put on a tin foil hat and become a conspiracy theorist.

2. I Would Do Volunteer Work

I would dedicate time every single to help those less fortunate in one way or another. If I had serious money, I would donate a significant part of it to charity.

I would love to do volunteer work helping out homeless people, help animal shelters, housing projects, ecological living, anything really.

3. I Would Travel

If I had the time and money, I would travel. I would like to see as many places on this magnificent planet as possible.

4. I Would Dedicate Time For Mental and Physical Wellbeing

One of the things I don't like about my current schedule is that I don't have enough time for taking care of my physical and mental well being all time.

I would dedicate time every single day to meditate and gather my thoughts. To simply be and contemplate important and not so important things. This includes spirituality.

I would also dedicate time for physical activity to keep my body as functional and healthy as possible, increasing the odds of living a long life.

I think I wouldn't have any trouble filling my days. On the contrary actually! Life is full of interesting things to explore.

But that's enough about me.

What Would You Do?

Now I would love to hear what would you do if you had all the money and time in the world?

What are things you don't have the time and energy to do in your current situation?

Good article.
If I didn't have to worry about financial issues, there would be a multiple of things that I would do. The first thing would be to donate money to the causes I believe in, feed the hungry people in my country for an example. I would travel, buy a home and relocate to a more desirable location, do volunteer work in an animal shelter, and be an evangelist for my faith. I already have a Business Degree, so I don't see and ROI in getting another degree. Learning just to have more knowledge is okay, but to spend $20K or so on an education, I would think you want to apply what you have learned in order to justify the spending.

Just my thoughts.

Barbara

Those are some great goals Barbara! I wouldn't think of the additional degrees in terms of ROI. I believe in the pursuit of knowledge. I would likely dedicate my life to advancing research in some field of interest. Oh and universities are free to attend to in Finland ;)

Tuition free, universities in US are unheard of.
Good luck with your goals!

Barbara

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on unlimited wealth.
Let me see. We don't have to work now, so I split my days around my husband, exercise, playing guitar, socializing with friends and resting. What I would love to do is to be able to travel much more to beautiful countries. Pop over to see friends in Canada etc without having to budget for it.

That is why I spend at least 5 hours a day on here and on my website business. Freedom to travel. 😁

Lily 😊🎶

Glad to hear you liked it Lily! It looks like you wouldn't have any trouble filling your days either :)

Definitely not. I need more time. 🤣

Education my self and different family members aswell others who don't have the money to pay for their children education and travel to a lot of different places .Great post .All the best to you on your 2020 journey .Have a happy Monday. Fitzgerald

Thanks Fitzgerald! Great goals you have there.

Great post! If I had more money I too would educate myself more. I have a lot of interests and would love to learn more about many things.
I would like to "give" to good causes and especially to missions and missionaries to help them spread the Good News of Jesus around the world.
I would love to pay off all the debts of my family members and set aside funds for my grand kids college.
I would love to make my home more wheelchair accessible and get more room for doing art.
I would enjoy traveling if I could find a good way to do so in my wheelchair. There are many places just in the U.S. I would enjoy seeing.
Sometimes its nice to dream like this. -Shirley

Those are nice dreams to have Shirley! I hope you achieve them soon.

Isn't it queer that poor people work to get more money, and
rich people use their money to buy back time.

Money replenishes, time does not.

Money buys absolute freedom to do whatever, whenever, WHEREVER, and with whomever one chooses and nobody or anything can take that away.

I worked my ass off to get absolute freedom and NOBODY can take it away. I guarantee that.

I plan on scuba diving, golfing, and traveling with my Ukrainian honey and starting a family at age 59. My dad was 58 and mom 38 when I was born in 1961 and I turned out fine. I think.

Nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your hard work Mark! You've earned it. I actually think older parents grow more stable kids on average.

You've EARNED it, my friend! Enjoy! 😎
