Setting my priorities straight - Creating content

Time to do a new update! I'm on my summer holiday and I have not met my weekly update goal. Partly because I've had better things to do, but mostly because I haven't had that much to update.

We are having the hottest summer in a long time here in Finland, so I have been enjoying the sun and the warmth. Mid days are starting to get a bit too hot, so it's a good time to sit in front of the computer (and a desk fan) and work on my business while waiting for the sun to go down a bit. Some of you folks living in warmer climates don't probably realize how rare that is here :)

I've been hanging around WA a bit less than before as I don't want to spend my holiday sitting on a computer all the time. However, like I said in a previous post, I have decided to do something every day to advance my online business. Holiday or not. Since I don't want to spend all day on computer I have had to set my priorities straight.

For the duration of my holiday I will focus solely in content creation. I aim to write two high quality posts on my website each week. I've been able to hit that goal so far and I do think at this point content creation should be my main priority, because my site is pretty new.

My main site is almost 3 months old and I feel like I've done pretty well so far, but I need a lot more content to really start ranking in search engines. So that's why I've made it my top priority and everything else (like WA) gets done only if I have the time and feel like it.

My site is starting to form into a mix of a work from home niche website and a site aimed at marketing Wealthy Affiliate. I've been following the Affiliate Bootcamp training and one problem I am having is coming up with product reviews. I feel like I would need to buy and use a product for a while to create a valuable review? So my reviews so far are pretty much limited to WA and Jaaxy.

If you guys have any tips on how to create reviews without actually buying every single product, I would be thrilled!

Remember that creating review is not everything, but you have to create content that gives value to people and also help you to get ranked. For review some have trials and you can try them quickly and write own honest review about them.

Many products have trial periods/test period so you don't really have to buy them but try them out for the test period.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for commenting :)

No problem.

Hi
Love beach image.

We are told that our main priorities should be content, so putting content creation first is a good way to go.

I look at reviews like this: Everything can become a product review. Such as a day out at a popular place, the bottled water that we drink, baby wipes and so on.

Jennifer

My niche is in the make money online / work from home business so products are mainly info products or software. Thanks for the tip though Jennifer!

Thank you and you are most welcome.

I have a site based on the same topic. Although i am fairly new here I can see a sea of content material. When you get into phase two of the boot camp it will all become clearer

That a nice beach you have around your area.

I just read @Jerry's blog post about how to create a product review and I find it very useful. I think you might want to read.
Here's the link Joe

Thanks for the tip Joe! That was actually a really good read and I bookmarked it. Didn't still answer the question how people get all the information about a product without purchasing it. Reading other peoples reviews or just doing very general review based on the product info?

Like yourself I’m currently on holiday in Boscastle Cornwall England, I’m finding it very hard to create on my site so just decided this is my holiday and I’m going to enjoy the break.
When I return I’ll make up for it
Brett

What;'s your site URL?

I find my self wanting to just have a holiday without any obligations as well. How ever I realized I was feeling down if I wasn't working on my online business.

Knowing that I am driving my business forward every day gives me great sense of accomplishment and makes me happy. That's why I decided to work on it even on my holiday. I have no trouble to not think about my day job and I do have more time to write.

I suggest you do something to advance your business during the holiday. Even if it's the littlest thing, write one post if nothing else. I have found that gaining back momentum after a break can be hard. Sometimes detrimental.

Best of luck to you Brett!
