Don't Mess With Amazon.
Amazon is in the news after filing suit on some affiliate marketers that were allegedly sending emails and misleading their customers to believe they were participating in surveys with Amazon that would give them gift cards.
Yet another great example of why staying on the side of integrity is always the right thing to do. They are going after damages as well so whatever "profits" were made by this scheme will be a thing of the past.
It's hard to imagine how short sighted people can be sometimes but this is definitely a prime example. Looks like they should have given alot more thought to this before creating a situation where you are in this kind of a situation with such a powerful company.
So glad we are well educated here and that we are committed to doing things right. After all that's where the big long term money is made and it's sustainable.
Here's a link to the case if you want to take a look... so happy to be on the right side of the road here at Wealthy Affiliate.

haha I chuckled at the "prime example" part too.
Interesting read, though. The sad thing is that these unscrupulous people tend to at least make some headway before they get caught and shut down. They just move on to the next. :(
Hi, thanks for sharing. I'm glad Amazon took action. This trying to make easy illegal money happens in all sectors apparently, however they all seem to get caught at one time or another. Good day everyone.
Thanks, I was glad to see they took action as well. They've set a prime example of what not to do.
Good Morning Judy,
I did receive those kinds of emails but Google had put them in Spam already. From there they were permanently deleted.
It is quite amazing what people come up with, it seems the internet has sent peoples imagination soaring.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
It's a shame because if they let their imagination soar in the right way they'd be successful. I never received any of the emails but it's good to hear they landed in the spam folder. Hopefully this hasn't impacted too many people in a bad way.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing the story.
It was interesting to see that Amazon was able to file the law suit even though they do not know who the actual perpetrators behind the fraudulent emails and websites are yet.
I suspect that Amazon is trying to make a statement: "Don't mess with us or our trademarks because we will sue you."
Thanks Sondra, I thought the same. Very glad to see them take a strong stand and hopefully deter more of this kind of behaviour.
