How hard should I work to build a successful business? I suppose this sounds rather silly to some of you, does it?

What sacrifices do you make to build a successful business?

There are only 24 hours in a day, right? For me, to make things happen, I sacrifice some of my sleep. I don't mind really, but I realize very well that I can only sacrifice a certain amount to stay healthy and not get sick. I stay up a bit later and get up a bit earlier to get some things done when the rest of the house sleeps.

I don't watch TV anymore since I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate and prioritize building up my business, improving my skills and to work towards my goals. Really, I don't mind it at all, building up a business is way more satisfying and exciting anyway.

However, I believe we have to make sacrifices to achieve our goals, I realize deeply, we have to know and recognize our boundaries at the same time.

If we focus too much on our business, and neglect other important aspects of our life, we may end up with a successful business, but without our family, good friends, and good health.

The magical word 'balance' present itself again as a red thread throughout our life.

The realization

I have realized that I have arrived in a stage of my life, that it starts costing more effort to do work to fulfill other peoples dreams.

The realization feels like a snowball, and won’t stop rolling. I am in a stage of my life where I can't really effort to make the decision to leave my job. And it could be far, far away before I potentially start generating revenue in my online business. Persistence and patience are required. I am pretty sure many of you will recognize these feelings?

Discipline is required to keep working a job you slowly outgrow, very hard work and commitment is required to build an additional road, to make a move in the future.

Why couldn't I make this decision earlier so I don't feel like I am moving towards corner? I am sure many of you recognize these feelings as well?

Our life is a great reflection of our development

When we look at our life we can see everywhere the reflection of our choices. How does our house look like? What choices have we made in our journey to be, where we are at this stage?

I believe that all aspects of our life are reflecting 'us'. And so is I our business synchronized with our personal development and choices.

We can't move forward without personal development. We constantly have to keep improving our selves to move forward successfully in life and business. We can't be successful in building our business if we are just not ready to move.

So again, how hard should I work to build a successful business?

I asked myself this question.

I am not particularly talented in one thing, but I do have a great life skill I inherited from my mother. This is that I am a very hard worker. However, what I learned in life too is that your strength most definitely is your weakness as well. I think getting older makes me more alert to not overdo it though, however, I have to admit, I found it hard to stop.

A marathon right, not a sprint!. Sometimes I feel frustrated how much I can do in the time I got. I would love to listen to all the life training Jay make, the extra video's Kyle sent me, I love to read all blogs of the members, I like to spend more time on the training, and write more content. However, I have to care for precious little people, I have a husband, friends, work, and a house to look after.

I hope I am at the stage of my life that I know how to walk on the edge, to walk on the fine line called balance. Push hard, but not too hard. Sleep less, but still enough. Reach for my dreams, but live life in the present. I don't want anything more than being successful in my online business, but I definitely don't want to arrive on the destination without my loved ones, or without my health.

However, I want to move forwards at a decent pace, and not getting stuck in a corner. Let's walk on the edge but stay on the right side.

On our success.

Jude

Hey Jude, don't let me down, sing a sad song and make it better remember to let it into your heart than you can start to make it better, better, better!! Nah Nah nah nah na nah nah, na na na hey Jude!

Captivating piece and synonymous with the song. Balance is a state of equilibrium it is not static that's why you got ta' roll with it, take it slow, take your time uh huh! ;)

Can you tell I've woken up cheerful and your piece made me even more so!!

Haha Ramco, you make me laugh. Love your energy. And very true, the balance keeps moving. When we think we figured it out, it is about time to start over again lol ;) . Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate you stopping by. Jude

As always my lady you are most welcome! and its at my pleasure ;)
R.

Jude it’s a hard choice, but once you’re ambitious there’s no turnings back. Once you prioritize your work, it will become second nature to your day work.

In my time, I held down three jobs, six children, a husband, and full time college,( looking back, how the heck did I make it), But I did.
All the success to on your journey Jude.

Oh wauh, you are superwomen, good on you. I am really enjoying my new journey and can't wait to build this business further out. Thank you for your support, I appreciate it a lot. Jude

The only way to do that is to prioritize and spread out the work load to a comfortable pace, if you really want to make it there. The only thing that you give up is the speed of your journey. If you keep going the way you are going you will end up giving up your journey all together. It is a marathon, and in your case with restrictions. If you accept that and give it everything you got with the limitations of time, you will still get there. Wish you the very best.

Yes true, but going to slow there is this risk to lose focus. Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it, probably I will adjust the balance slightly bit in the next few months. Jude

Thank you for this amazing post Jude.
Sometimes I think that maybe this whole online business thing is just a pipe dream. After all I've been working on it for 6 weeks and I haven't received a penny yet. I've been stressed and sometimes I wonder if I'm sacrificing my health for not even the promise for wealth. Yet I realize that im sacrificing my health everyday by working a job I dislike with people that have no direction in their lives. I'm also killing my body by ingesting various chemicals at work and engaging in non healthy acts outside of work to quiet my mind. You have to try everything in your power to make a better future for you and your family. If you stop trying you may as well crawl into a coffin and die. You have one life to make things right. Don't ever give up on your dreams.

Thank you for your comments. The road to success may be a long road, therefore we should definitely try to enjoy the journey. I hope your website is coming along and you will experience steady progress. I noticed on your profile you tried out Affiliate Institute, so did I but I cancelled in my trial period and I am so happy I did. I actually cancelled when I found WA, and it felt like a lot better place to go on this online journey. Thank you kindly for your comment and I am looking forward to reading about your success. Jude

Hi Jude, an amazing read, so insightful and motivating. This type of work really does often feel like walk on the edge! Sometimes it feels a bit lonely, but to me it always feels worthwhile.
Maybe that is because I love creating for my business... although, I have to say not always loving 'what' I have created! Have to stop myself straying into the 'it's not exactly right' syndrome.
Many thanks for taking the time to post this really thoughtful piece, Sue 😊

I know exactly what you mean, it is a skill to just be satisfied with what you are able to create in the present moment. Like you, I really enjoy the journey as well. Hopefully, our work pays off one day. I visited your profile and saw you have done don't of work, very impressive. I left you a private message too in your inbox. Have a great day, thank you for stopping by, I appreciate it a lot. Jude
