Are you hitting home on your site or the home icon in your browser? Your browser is probably the one you're hitting and that takes you to whatever you home page in the web browser is set to. Your home button on your site should take you to you main page for your site.

I've no idea what's happeniong from your description. If you PM me your website URL I'd be happy to take a look,
