Walking Challenge
I signed up last week to do a 40-mile walking challenge for the American Cancer Society fundraiser. Even though my health is still not great after having the stroke, I keep moving forward. This challenge will also help me stay active and get some strength back.
I did my first mile this morning before got too hot today! The first week I plan to walk the same distance every day and then work on walking further next week.
Walking also helps me clear my mind and focus on things that need to be done.

Yes, its great to have clear mind. Walking surely does help with clearing your mind and seeing wild animals when you walk. Also, have to be careful with big dogs being lose. Someone close by has three Pits running lose, so far they come up barking and now try to attack. Which I talk softly to them let them know I'm no danger to them, so maybe that is helping.
Yes, your talking softly would help. When I am walking in areas where there are loose dogs of any kind, I usually carry a small bag of treats with me. This could be a mixed blessing since just about any dog could smell them on me!
