How to Find Affiliate Programs & Getting Paid
Hello, Wealthy Affiliate Members!
I have been contacted by many with the question of how to find affiliate programs and get paid!
First is Finding Your Niche
When you signup for the Starter membership with WA you get basic training on setting up your website which teaches you to choose your niche. You choose your niche based on your passion or some blog about things they are not even passionate about.
I jumped in right away not knowing what I really was passionate about and made very little money at the start.
Everyone will say they make a different amount, that is why I don't blog or brag about my commission payouts. The reason I mention commission payouts already is as this depends on your niche chosen.
If you have a passion for cooking or crafts, your niche could only lead to low-cost products such as dinnerware or crafting beads. That does not mean you cannot still earn reasonable commissions to help you reach your goals.
Let's say you like to go biking and love to explore different bike trails and you own a mountain bike or electric bike. Your niche could be based on biking and exploring which can result in higher commissions.
Basing Niche on Passions
I find it's easier for me to choose a niche based on my passions, as my content articles are always 2,000 words or more! When I try to write about something I am not passionate about, I get stumped and cannot write.
Writing Before Finding Affiliate Partners
This is from my personal experience as well after joining Wealthy Affiliate. If you focus on trying to become an affiliate partner for retail stores or brands before having any content or traffic to your website, your application will be denied!
Focus on writing good quality content and driving traffic to your website before trying to find affiliate partners. I recommend 10 or more articles, as you want traffic to read what you are offering and get them interested in buying the product or service you are passionate about!
You want to gain your visitor's trust! You will need to have the traffic coming to your website!
Finding Affiliate Partners
Once you have articles and traffic coming to your website start applying for affiliate programs. You can find affiliate programs through affiliate networks or go directly to the merchant website and look for their affiliate program link.
I have found that merchants that do not use affiliate networks to manage their affiliate programs pay out more in commissions.
Getting Commission Payouts
Commission payouts depend on the merchant program, some payout by PayPal, Direct Deposit, Check, Gift Card, or Prepaid Debit Card!
Wealthy Affiliate pays out through PayPal, Google Pays out by Check, and Amazon can pay you by direct deposit, gift card, or even as a donation to a charity I believe. This is hope to you on how you get paid.
If you do not like giving out your bank details but want your commission payout quickly with direct deposit! You can use Cash App, Venmo, Chime, or other companies like that as they give you a routing number or account number just like a regular bank account that is put on your own personal card to use.
Riches Don't Come Overnight
If you are here with a mindset of getting rich overnight, then you are going to be disappointed. Making money with affiliate marketing takes time and dedication, as so many WA members have said over and over in their training. Be patient and dedicate your time researching, writing, and working on your website with good-quality articles.

You talked about payouts I have an existing business account , could I use this account to get paid by some of these programs. It will be great for direct deposit.right into my business account..which I have a card for to access money from. I loved this it really opened my eyes.cause I too had some of those questions. Thanks for the answers lol. Have a fantastic day.
You can use your business account as long you're comfortable with it to receive payouts for your commissions.

Well thought out post. Finding your niche is perhaps the most important part of setting up your site.
Being passionate and also actually having something to sell along with that passion is necessary.
If your passion was “ worms” for example ( I know I’m being silly) then the amount of what you could sell is likely limited. So , I my opinion, you need a mix of passion and being realistic.
And you are right, don’t expect to be a millionaire overnight, give it at least a few days.lol.
Many Thanks
Stephen
