This is a pretty general question, but I have a tendency to focus in on little details when it comes to projects. I feel that I might be doing that here as well with things lik

Focus on training. Small matters should be noted for later action.

The problem I have with focusing on the training is that I feel like I am already to far ahead in the training. I am working on "Understanding Affiliate Programs & Networks" and yet I have almost no content at them moment. Part of the problem I am running into is, in order to create content I have to take part in the thing I am writing the review about. In my case, it is video games. I have large selection of video games to play but I don't have a lot of time to play and finish them. I am unable to write a review about something I have finished, right? Maybe I am missing something here. Please let me know if I am. Thanks!

There is no right or wrong to how you approach your website. For me it's get it up and running and then go back and refine it, but if you go into the detail as you go along, then you won't have to keep going back to fix it and you will know it's right from the get go. If it is your personality to go into detail then I doubt that you would be happy publishing without knowing everything is perfect. So I would advise you to do it your way and feel content with what you've done.

While I agree in premise, I think I am missing out on possible traffic by focusing on things that don't really matter yet. Granted, I will still want to make the little changes but I think I am going to try and write down those little changes I want to make and go back to them later. I could be missing the mark here and I am open to suggestions if I am.

Just remember that the way you approach it will depend on how you work. There is no right or wrong approach. If something needs done, then it needs done, so rather than put it on a list it would just be better to do it and get it done.

Johnathan - hi there
It's a personal opinion but I'd suggest creating and publishing content - after all, adding navigation to your website isn't going to bring in the eyeballs on its own.

This is where I am landing as well. I think I should focus on content for now and go back and add changes and such later. Correct me if I am wrong here, but its not like once you post it that's the only time people will go look. From my understanding, it is quite the opposite in some ways. The longer something has been out there, the more "trusted" it is.

Hi Johnathan
Yes, you are right - the search engines like good, aged content - but the content MUST be stellar.
Focus on providing information that answers questions, help your reader get answered and the search engines will love you.
Make your content as readable as possible.
Don't be afraid of embedding Youtube videos (if they are tightly focused on your blog post subject)
Don't be afraid of making tables for your content - a well-presented table can replace a lot of written text easily. Saving both you and your readers time.
Include 'calls to action' at the bottom of your posts - not necessarily affiliate links but just links to other content in your blog (as long as it is relevant)

Hope that helps

I am writing reviews on video games on my blog, but I am kind of confused on key word searching. At the moment, all of my key words are just the name of the game and review. i

Hey Johnathan,

You may find the following videos to be most helpful: when writing product reviews.

Hope you find these to be as helpful as I have.

Thank you very for the information to look at. I will dig into it as soon as I get time.

You're right, Johnathan. People will be searching for "game-name review" but you want your post to stand out from the crowd so you'll need to add a bit more to your title.

Check out Jay's recent webinar

Appreciate the info! I will be watching this video as soon as I get a moment.

I just finished watching that video. Very informative but not exactly what I was looking for. I may end up using the Review stars in google using WP product review in the future. However, right now I am focused on trying to come up with better key words instead of just (product name) review. Thanks again though!

Try adding the word "honest" or the year "2020" to your keywords.

Many websites now have an option to accept or decline cookies. Is this something that is required now and I need to add it to my site?

Hey Johnathan,

Perhaps the following blog will explain what you are now seeing on a lot of websites: Hope you find this helpful.

Yes, for sure. Inform people about everything you're using on your site in order to collect their info - especially - and with who you're sharing that info, and for what reason.

Most of the plugins are letting you know what to update in your privacy policy.
Just look deeper for that info ;)

Hi, I think you have to do that. it,s the same question that I wanted to ask. when you are moving a domain to another everything needs to be changed.

Special the email address and the new domain URL.

Yes, as a professional online business person and for the sake of long term success, it'd be better to update your privacy policy if your website uses cookies.

Do I need to update my privacy policy?
