Hello everyone at Wealthy Affiliate! I hope this day finds everyone safe and well!

Thank you for all the well wishes from those who read my blog yesterday. I certainly do appreciate the warm kindness and sentiments that I received. It is really nice to know that this community sincerely cares about one another. Speaking of which, has anyone heard of any updates from Florentino on his daughter's health status? What about Stanley? I haven't seen a post from him in over a month and was wondering if he was okay? Then there is Greg (gnoose), who traveled to Vegas several weeks ago to be with is father who was being placed on hospice.

These are some of my friends whom I have not heard from in the WA platform in weeks or more and was wondering how they were doing. My thoughts are with them and maybe this is not a good time for them to be interacting with the community for one reason or another but I wanted them to know that in my book they are missed!

While I am still not feeling 100% better, I did get out for a bit of lunch and a flu shot today. I tried to be a little mobile so I wouldn't feel so stiff on top of everything else.

Now onto the topic at hand.

I Love Fall/Autumn Because...

This is a participation blog.

I will share with you some of my reasons why I like Fall/Autumn, then in the comments, you can share some of your reasons, assuming you like this time of year! Maybe some of you live in a part of the world that doesn't have changes in seasons like some of us do. I still would like to hear your thoughts! Is it a deal?

Good!

I Love Fall/Autumn for many reasons. This is the time of year when the colors all around me change. The green leaves of summer turn to red, yellow and gold. The air is crisp and cool with an occasional very warm day, which we call "Indian Summer".

The dictionary defines this as a period of unusually dry, warm weather occurring in late autumn.

  • a period of happiness or success occurring late in life.

And Wikipedia defines it as a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere during September to November.

All I know is it the most gorgeous time of the year, in my area. There are fall festivals and craft fairs all over the state, which makes for wonderful weekend adventures. Then there's the apple 🍎 and pumpkin 🎃harvests and picking for pie making, lest we not forget the pigskin 🏈🏈🏈 harvest either. Ah! Hot apple pie or pumpkin, whichever you prefer, with some hot cocoa and American football on big screen TV. I can smell it now! Although football is not the same without fans in the stands, this year! I don't enjoy it as much as I did in past years, especially my weekend trips to Annapolis to take in some sites,, wonderful crabcakes, beer and Navy playing football.

This is also the season for giving Thanks and spending time with loved ones.

Around this time last year is when I happened to stumble onto Wealthy Affiliate and I inherited a new kind of family.

Yes, we may be virtual for the most part, but I am still as thankful for you and Wealthy Affiliate, as much as I am for the opportunity to enjoy all the wonderful things I mentioned above.

I would like to leave you with a poem I wrote a few years ago. My mom always said it was her favorite. It is entitled:

Autumn's Glow

Cool, crisp air whispering through the days, Evening shadows reflect the moons haze. Stars lingering in the distance above, Swallowed up by clouds as soft as a glove.

Leaves surrending their usual green, Yield now to something more pristine. Breathtaking colors all around, Now fall softly to the ground.

Orange and yellow tree-lined streets, Signaling once again summer's retreat. Breezes blow more determinedly now, Trees bend their branches for one final bow.

Daytime skies still bright and true, Crystal clear and the bluest of blues. The majestic beauty and serenity, Forever locked away in my memory.

Look to the wind and feel the chill, The rush of days and the sudden thrill. For Autumn's glow will soon carry in, Winter's song like a sad violin. ~~ Barbara McGinley

Ok, now it's your turn!!

Thank you for your great poem, Barbara. It drew me right into our shared experience for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere right now.

I spent many years in Hawaii, with such lush uniformity and little changing, maybe the Plumerias dropping their flowers. Then we visited my daughter in Boulder, CO (where I now live), and she really really wanted to take us to Rocky Mountain National Park to see the trees turning yellow. I thought, go all that way to see leaves? But to be game and willing in the spirit of family togetherness, I went along. And I was awed by how stunning it all was. Being submerged in this orchestra of color was far different than seeing a photograph in a magazine. And then a massive herd of caribou, like thunder, charged across our view as if their hidden director had just called out “action.” I realized that all of this normally goes on without me. Not anymore, it's become a memory of why I like Fall.

What a wonderful and breathtaking experience it must have been for you! Thank you so much for sharing it with me.
It is very heartwarming.

Fall is my favorite season. I lived in FL(Pensacola then Shalimar/Crestview for about 6 years or so. I just got done checking on friends back there. Whew, Pensacola got his hard with Sally. See attch pix.

Anyway, one of the things I missed was the clean, fresh, crisp Fall air and the changing leaves. I love all the colors of Fall and how you can finally open the windows!!! I could do without the football especially after I saw the movie Concussion. 😊

Let's enjoy the season. Glad you're feeling a little better.

~Debbi

Yes, Debbi. Sally did slam Florida and Mobile, Alabama. Really bad.
I've seen the news videos from both areas. I have family and friends living along the south west coast of Florida and some along the south east coast as well.

I don't really care for living in New Jersey that much anymore more but I do like that we experience all 4 seasons.

Yes, I don't miss the snow from upstate NY and up your way. We get some so we know it's winter but not much (generally).

The shore area gets some snow but not nearly as much as they get in the northern parts of the state.
I don't care for the snow anymore.
It was cool as a kid but not anymore.

I do love autumn. The only thing I don't like about it is that winter comes next, and we really haven't had a very nice summer. No, no! Not winter! Let's stay in fall for the rest of the year...

Fran,
I like your thinking!🙂🤗
Thank you for sharing with me.
Barbara

I like it because it is not too hot or too cold, Sis! Great post!

Glad you're feeling a little better! I was also wondering about those three! Haven't heard from Stanley in ages though!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about fall/🍂 with us.
Much appreciated!

Sis

You're welcome, Sis! I would say football, but blah right now on that subject!

Brudda

Yeah, me too.

I am in Texas now, but when I lived in the Midwest, I loved the fall colors and that cool crisp air. I loved Apple cider and picking apples and getting bags of assorted nuts. I also enjoyed going out to the pumpkin farm to choose that pumpkin for Halloween. I loved making Apple and Pumpkin pies, but Pumpkin pies were my favorite. We lived in a small town and we were able to burn our leaves, I loved raking them up into many piles and setting them ablaze.

Joe

Thank you so much Joe for sharing your memories.
