Are You Consider Making Video Content?

Hello Everyone! JrzyGrlBJ here. It's 4:30 am here. I woke up to use the bathroom and now I can't get back to sleep. So, I decided to put a little something together to occupy my time and maybe help me to fall back to sleep.

Have You Ever Thought About Using Video Content?

Ever since I created a video for one of my lessons in Affiliate Bootcamp Training, I've been thinking about doing more of them, maybe even venture into creating a training session or just a walk through of a particular topic. Haven't quite decided on the direction to go in yet but I do know I want to delve into video content very soon.

Written content is still the base of the internet content, but did you see the interest in photo content or even video content?

Luckily, we get to learn about all of these types of content right within the Wealthy Affiliate. But as I've started learning about video content, I thought that not many people really take full advantage of it.

Photo content is great, and almost everyone is working on their Pinterest game (or even Instagram), but did you ever consider YouTube to be one source of your traffic?

Attention Span is Short

How long does it take before you quit a website because it's not loading quickly? How about the blog post? When was the last time you read a complete blog post, especially if it was your first visit to the blog?

Most people scan through blog posts, even if they plan on reading the blog post after all.

Why do they do this?

Because there are so many options out there and they want to read something that will help them in some way and not waste their time.

That's why we write content in a certain way and we include all the graphics to make it attractive.

But after all, not everyone will read your blog post - and that's okay. The bounce rate is one of the stats that allow you to track the number of people who exited your website after only spending a couple of seconds on it.

However, the video is different. Did you notice that YouTube allows ads in the videos and people still watch them?

Video Content is Increasing in Popularity (and it Provides Incredible Results)

In fact, video can increase lead generation, traffic, and even increase sales. This is coming from video marketers where 83% of them said that they've noticed an increase in their business after focusing on video.

According to OptinMonster, 95% of video marketers will focus on maintaining and producing more video content in 2020.

Of course, we are not video marketers, but we can incorporate video marketing into our website.

Featuring videos from various sources is a great start. However, did you ever think of creating your own videos?

No matter the niche, you can always produce some type of video that will support your website. Whether it is an overview of a digital product, physical product, or simply an educational video on a certain topic.

Anyone Can Take Advantage of Video!

I know what you're thinking right now.

Writing a post on your own pace, hitting the publish button and forgetting about it is simple. The video takes a lot more courage, right?

Even I was scared of creating my first video - but it gets better from there. I noticed that all you need to do is start!

You don't like hearing the sound of your voice? That happens to almost everyone I know!

Don't worry, you don't need to make video content as your primary type of content. However, stay a bit consistent and you could turn it into another source of traffic.

Also, some things might look a lot better in the video than on photos (or in the description). I believe that everyone's goal is to improve and provide valuable content to their readers - and video is just one way you can do this.

There is a great lesson in Bootcamp training on video, however, it also applies to any other niche or site so you should definitely look into it!

After all, who doesn't like to start off a new lesson by watching one of Kyle's videos?

I'd love to hear your opinion on this! Did you ever consider getting started with video? What's stopping you?

Barb, did you need any special equipment to make your video or did you just use your phone camera? That is all I have as far as video equipment. I have thought about doing a video later on down the road after I finish my training, but if there is special equipment that one needs, then I need to be looking into it.

Take care
Charlotte
(aka Chacha)

Good question ChaCha (wink). I might be interested in this as well.

Charlotte,

Mine was done with screencastomatic. A Brit friend of mine has the software, so I but together the presentation and he did the editing and narration parts.
The software is way to expensive for me and I din't want to purchases it. So my friend, who at the time, was on the same Affiliate Bootcamp lesson as me, offered to help out.

I believe you can make a video from the slide presentation and add your narration.

I'm sure you can use your phone camera, if you wanted to go live without any screenshots. I myself have not figured out how to do it from my phone with screen shots yet.

If it weren't for the training lessons, I probably would not have ventured into doing video content. I do need to learn more about getting the narration and the slides to be in sync so I would need to ask for assistance next time.

This is what my first one looked like. Like and subscribe if you wish.

Thanks Barbara

No prob.
My pleasure.

I've thought about video. I've got the software and the hardware, the problem I've run into is creativity. I've got a running vlog of sorts to pass on to my kids, but making that is easy. The creative juices don't flow when I try to create a video. Giving more thought to this.

Greg

Write your script out first, Greg, just like you were writing a post. Then read it.

Yeah, but doesn't it sound like a guy reading a script? I want my words to flow natural like. Gurgling stream, flowing river etc etc etc. To my ear when playing back a video, I seem robotic. Still working on that. Got a sore spot on my forehead and a dent in my desk. Thanks for your encouragement Fran

Greg

Greg,
Fran is right.
Use a script and practice it over and over again until you like the way it sounds.

I will be doing my next one this way. This was my first attempt.

I couldn't get the narration and the slides to sync up so a Brit friend of mine helped out.

Like and subscribe if you are inclined.

Hi Barb, you are absolutely correct here. I need to just take the plunge and go after it. What video software do you use. I was leaning toward what Kyle recommends in the training.

My problem is that if I try to load anymore software on my laptop it’ll kill it for speed. It’ll bog down on me worse than it already does. No money to get a new one at the moment. So I’m stuck with it for now.

I need to be able to practice with producing and editing before I actually do one for real to my YouTube channel.

Wish me luck in this as I will probably try to do this in the month of July. Ooh, yuck.

Hey Bob,
I made this one with the help of another member because I don't have the screencastomatic software and it's too expensive.
All the free ones Kyle mentioned in his training don't exist anymore.
Figure that the training is outdated at least 7 years.

This was made for Phase 4 and I used for Phase 5, lesson 3.

I put the presentation together and my friend did the editing and narration.

I'm British in this video.
I would appreciate a like and subscribe if you're not inclined.

Thanks Bob,

Barabara

I am in the process of checking into what is still free to use out there... hopefully I’ll find one.

Let me know what you find.

I will definitely do that. I may check into what Heidi and Dave recommend in their ebook on their collaboration website.

Thank you.

Great topic. I have started creating some video content. I don't like being on camera, but oh well I will get over it eventually. Thank you for sharing!
Shawn D

Hi Shawn,
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Appreciate your input.

I don't like being on camera but for now, until I take the plunge, I will probably just use PowerPoint slides and audio.

Thanks for this post, I'm always shy of making videos, but I know I will eventually great one, have you make any video yourself

Hi Eunice,
Thank you for coming by and reading my blog.

Yes, I made one video as part of a lesson in Affiliate Bootcamp Training.

I had some help putting it together though. It's up on YouTube. Please like and subscribe if you feel inclined to.
