Hello everyone, πŸ‘‹

Hope everyone here in Wealthy Affiliate is doing well!

It is still Monday here, but midnight is creeping up pretty quickly, so I will not keep everyone very long.

Not many of you know that along with having cancer five years ago, I also have been battling with skin cancer for a bit more than twenty years.

When I say battling, I am not joking. From my back to my face, neck, arms and hands -- I resemble a battlefield of scars.

Today was no exception. I was scheduled for Mohs surgery at 9:30 am this morning. The actual surgery did not begin until nearly 11:00 am.

What is Mohs, you might be thinking?

Mohs is a type of skin cancer surgery, where they start by cutting a layer of affected at a time. Once the layer is removed, a pathology is performed (while you wait) to determine if they have removed it all.

This sometimes can take one to two hours. If complete removal of the cancer is achieved, the surgery is completed. If not, they continue to remove more damaged skin, until they achieve what is called "clear margins" or they removed it all.

Today I waited until nearly 2:00 pm for my pathology to be completed. In the meantime, I sat around in the outer room of the doctors' office freezing πŸ₯Ά my butt off because the A/C was jacked up so high.

Why are doctors' offices so cold? Does it make it more sterile if it feels like you are at the North Pole?

But I digress!

Luckily and quite happily my margins came back clear after the first cut.

I couldn't wait to get out of Arctic temperatures when it was nearly 90Β°F outside.

But by the time I was all stitched up and ready to go home, it was close to 4:00 pm.

I arrived home about a half hour later, after stopping at McDonald's for some food, as I only had a banana 🍌 all day, until that point.

By that time the Novocaine was wearing off and the area was throbbing. What a wicked headache that was -- still is.

I am fine and that's all that counts! Ready to move past this little set back and continue my work.

Let's begin on a high note on Tuesday. Monday is nearly past and there nothing I can do to change the events. Just happy everything worked out well!

Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Be well!

~~ Barbara

Wow. Sorry to hear that. A friend of mine goes through that and he has to be SO careful in the sun. You sure have had your share!!!! Hope by the time you read this you're warm and headache free.

It's 2:15 am and another sleepless night. 😏. Stress I guess.

Take care if yourself

Debbi

Yes, I have had my share. I do need to be vigilant about sun exposure but that's not all. You see, I am genetically predisposed to skin cancer.
I can't sleep either. I slept a little after I got home, then was awake until nearly midnight, slept for a while and awake again at 3am. No more headache, warm in my own bed, Chance is snuggling but asleep.
Hoping I can fall asleep again shortly.
Thank you for dropping by. Enjoy hearing from you always.

The sandman must be on vacation! Not sure why I keep getting up either. Maybe it's my age????? πŸ’€πŸ˜‰

Glad you feel better though. Have a good Tues.

Debbi

Sandman forgets about me often as well. I didn't get back to sleep until after 4am.

Thank you. I hope today is a better day.

Barbara

Sounds like sandman came to both of our houses at the same time. Wow, what a player he is!!!!!!!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

He certainly is a player!

It's good to know you're fine. And yes, that's all that really matters.
Take care and have a great day!

Thank you Muslimah 😊
I appreciate your checking in on me. I am doing good.

Barbara

Congratulations, Barbara. It's a pain having to go through the procedure, but fabulous that they got it all. I drove a friend of mine to the doc's office for the same procedure on the tip of her nose. I think she had to go back after that time I went with her. Very time consuming, but happy to help her.

Hi Carol πŸ‘‹
Great to hear from you.
I'll most likely be fine in the morning. Thank you for your concern.

Barbara

Thank God, you are home now
and you are now alright.

That headache, sleep it off
and maybe a cold compress.

Yes, you are a brave girl.

Have some rest.

Blessings.

Elizabeth

Thank you very much Elizabeth.
I slept a little bit when I first got home, and I'm about to get some more sleep shortly.

Barbara

Wonderful.

Have a peaceful rest.

Have a good night.

Blessings.

Elizabeth
