Getting Products For A Hands On Review
I recently started a new website that reviews a new simple technology. This is a very low hanging keyword with less than 1000 searches a month (as told by Google).
For this site I wanted to review as many variations of this technology as I could but of course that would be very expensive.
So what did I do? I found as many producers of these devices as I could online and sent them all a message asking them for a sample or donation to add the the site.
The majority of them were really excited about the site and its idea, and more of them agreed to send me one of their devices (free of charge).
What I promised them:
1. One post for every different style of the device.
2. A positive review (not necessarily a good review but I was not going to 'bash' them)
3. A link from my site where readers may buy the devices.
I just got my first sample in the mail yesterday and added the post within the next half hour. After that, I emailed the company to let them know that their device post was live on my website.

I am in a few facebook groups where it is easy to find authors who are looking for reviews and also promoting their new book. I can often get a pdf sent just by asking nicely, I even got some real books sent. There is also a website I found where you can request pdfs of new books from publishers way before publishing date.

I didn't realize companies would be willing to do this. Mmi assuming its products that are as not well known like the major brand names?
yeah typically, this is also a very low hanging fruit when it comes to keywords, so I am sure they are willing to do more to get more customers.

I wonder if you suggested they affiliate if you could establish a long-term marketing relationship where you get the "affiliate cut"? Very interesting post and thanks for sharing. We've done this in reverse -- people would get samples and review us and provide a link.
A few companies have affiliate programs and told me to sign up; they still sent me items to review.
