Gain Dedicated Twitter Followers
This may work on other networks but I have not tried at the time of writing this post.
The reason this works well on Twitter is that this social network is one giant conversation. We people's achievements, sorrows, and joys as if we were their friends.
How to we gain a more dedicated audience on twitter? This tactic I have found to work the best.
1. Find a hastag or search term that relates to a problem you can solve.
Make sure this is in sync with your niche and area of expertise. If the user becomes a follower and sees that what you promote has nothing to do with what you helped them with they will unfollow.
2. Search through the list of tweets with this hastag.
Find one you can help solve.
3. Reach out with a reply.
Reply directly to the user. There is no need to make this its own tweet. Make sure the twitter handle is at the beginning. Nothing in front of of the handle. This will ensure that only that user and anyone who follows both of you will see it.
3. Tell them you have the solution.
But don't give it to them yet! This is very important to create engagement. If you drop a link, they may head to the site and never give you a second though or they may think it's spam and skip the tweet.
4. Wait.
Wait for them to say 'Yes, i want what you offer' (or something along those lines.)
5. Send them the link with the information they are looking for.
If you have a post that answers the question they are having send them that! If you don't send them the information they need, anyway. This will help build trust.
9 times out of 10 the person you help will follow you.
I don't recommend spending hours doing this since your blog still need attention but I try to find one person a day who I can help. I don't always find one and that's ok. The goal is to get the ball rolling. You help that person and when they see someone who needs help they will remember that you helped them and send the user your way.
Please ask questions!
PS. Follow me on twitter, tweet at me so I know you are from WA, and I'll follow back!
