Facebook Ad Campaign Results

8
1.4K followers

As promised here are my results:

My goal as to bring in more traffic to my Facebook page and boost the 'likes' of the main page's post.

After 13,305 people saw my site 140 people 'click'. Facebook counts a click as both a 'like' and a URL click.

Only 64 of the 140 clicks were to my websites main page.

Maybe if I added a higher bid I could have gotten a better click-through rate but it's all conditional.

For the next time I run an ad campaign on Facebook I will be trying to focus the audience more. 18 Million people is a lot but a smaller group with a higher click-through rate would prove better.

I will let you know when I start a new campaign.

In the mean time lets talk about this and ask questions to get the most out of paid ads.

Hey everyone, I started a new campaign. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks for sharing. Long time ago we tried pay per click and it never seemed to work for us. But it is tempting to "gamble" when you think it might pay off. I think it could depend a whole lot on what kind of competition you have. Many people surf all day and click all over the place but are they going to buy -- probably not. After we tried it three four months with no return on investment we never used it again and did it just with organic building -- the same thing they teach here, blogging and content (and back then establishing links when you could -- there was a difference in links -- high quality links were hard to get). I suppose these days Facebook clicks are more cost effective. And maybe your results will be different. I'll watch if you do more!

Thanks IslandMike

This is very interesting, thank you for sharing.

You are welcome; anytime :D

Everytime someone clicks on your ad a like gets added to your facebook page?

Not really. Everytime someone clicked my add it would take them to my site. Sometimes the people 'liked' the post, which also counts as a click to Facebook. Out of the 13,000+ people who saw my blog and the 140+ clicks on some part of the add. I only gained four more page followers on Facebook.

Most of the clicks were 'likes' on the post.

Jaron…please post results regularly. This is very educational. So basically, you paid Facebook for advertising to 13,305 people (who saw your ad). You pay Facebook $.50 for each click (140)…is that correct.

basicly, my average bid ended up being $0.35 but the max I had set was $0.50. I guess it depends on the competition in the specified areas that I was targeting.

Also I am assuming the 64 was out of the 140 but they could be separate. Facebook did not go into much detail there.

Hi JR, so you directed people to your site using facebook. I am not too envolved with social media, but I recognize that this will be an intrical part of marketing. How can you attract more followers, were do you advertise?

I was mostly directing them to the facebook page for my site. Only 64 of the 140 clicks actually made it to my website.

So far I have only used facebook and it has been a slow process; once I get more cash I would like to throw a little more at it. Maybe $100 instead of only $50 and raise the max bid to a dollar instead of $0.50

Any other place is twitter but I have looked into it yet, Google+ does not have advertisements yet (probably why I like it more than facebook).
