I just created my Google Analytics account for my new website. When I installed the code, I saw a traffic when I visited using my desktop, it means it was successful. However,

good I have to check mine

hi Abdul, it is working now. I had to delete and recopy my code back to the header part =)

not especially, why not have a looksee in your webmasters

hi Robert, thanks for the reply. what do you mean check on my webmasters? i assume you meant Web Master Tools...

Yes and you should be able to see where your visitors are coming from and what devices are being used.

That is actually my dilemma, hence , my question. I have successfully implemented my Analytics tracking code because I was able to see traffic when I visited my site using my desktop. I know it is me because it showed me as the visitor and my country. However, when I shifted to check my website using my mobile phone, it doesn't show any traffic. So I decided to shift and check my other websites that I manage too. All of them are working with desktop and mobile. It is just this newly created Analytics account that seems to have a delay in monitoring mobile and tablet devices.

have you verified it and do you have the Analytics ID within your Wordpress?

yup yup, all is verified =) It's actually working. It;s just that it only tracks desktop traffic which is quite strange. This is my 4th website and I've only encountered this dilemma.I am thinking maybe after 24 hours, the full potential will be gained.

do you also have the webmasters code within your wordpress?

I'll check on it =) Thanks Robert =)

I was thinking of promoting an affiliate link in Facebook to reach more audience. I am not sure however if this is allowed. Is it allowed on Facebook Pages that I manage? Can i

Hey JR,

Doing a quick Google search for "can i share an affiliate links on facebook" (without the quotation marks, of course) and Facebook's own page is right at the top of page 1 Google results, along with many other posts offering advice on this matter.

Thanks for asking, I was trying to find answers on this too - very confusing

Yes Moz, it is quite confusing because some say it is fine, but some say not quite... i guess it is best to side with caution... though of course, it would be best to have a unified guideline because for sure, this will soon pop up again and asked by many...

I hope Kyle covers it in the upgrade to the training as I have lots of opportunities to post banners in fb but it is a run around trying to find out how to do it - I do see others doing it though, not in here so I can't just go up and ask them! It is so confusing out there, even on facebook itself.

I've also been looking through the search bar in WA, slow process and still searching!

Yes that is not a problem, pick a helpful topic and give advice. Then you should be fine.

As an alternative, you should be safe posting a non-affiliate link to a page of your website and place your affiliate links on that page.

Thanks Bob =) I probably would do just that and avoid the risk =)

Sure. You can paste an affiliate link in Facebook. Sometimes, FB is not great with some links so it is best to run them through bitly.com and paste the billy link.

Thank you DrJec =) But are there any specific guidelines like it should only be on Facebook pages and not on personal pages? Should I put a disclaimer or some sort of note that when they click the link I will get a commission? =)

If I may add to the question, what do you mean chief when you said that Facebook is not great with some links?

They block WA links, even the WA link without an affiliate code

hi Loes, thanks for the reply. I am planning a non-WA link. I did try and the post automatically detected a banner link. It looks pretty actually. However, I deleted it because I am afraid it might cost me more problems than benefits. I was hoping for more informed details about it before I put it back.

I believe they are much stricter for ads on personal FB than on FB pages

I also read when I googled it.I was hoping that WA friends can shed more light =)

There is no need to put a disclaimer on FB. You should have a disclaimer about affiliates on each page.

I would like to ask how to enable the comments section for my pages? I was browsing thru some of the related questions and I read something that it also depends on the template

Just a quick question again. I tried to follow all the suggestions. The comments boxes are checked but still my Pages dont have a comment part. It is only the posts that have. Is it my chosen template? or there something i still haven't activated. Maybe anyone who had the same dillema share what they did =)

While logged on to your admin page for your website... Select "pages" . "All Pages".... then when your list of pages shows up, click the "quick edit" for the page you want the comments to appear on ...

Look the choices over carefully. You will see a box labeled "enable comments" ...

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Tom

Thanks Tom. It still comes out the same. The box enable comments are already checked but still the comments page is not seen. I now suspect maybe it is a template thing.

hmm... that is very possible..

be sure and let us know what you find out when you get it resolved.

Sincerely,
Tom

hi Tom,

I figured that it was my template theme's problem... i am developing other websites and it wasn't a problem =)

ayt. thanks.

Thanks for the update!

Best of luck to you in your endeavors..

Tom

No need to reply! I figured out both questions. Thanks. Veronica

Veronica thank you for the questions. It will help me a lot.

Bill

On the page with all your pages listed, hover over a page then click the quick edit button, then click enable comments

Thanks Paul that will help me to get my pages done better.

Bill

Thanks Paul. I did your advise but it's still the same. Maybe it's my chosen template.

In the page you are trying to activate comments, up top right there should be a screen option. Click there and you will be able to turn your comments on by clicking in the tick box. Once that is done, then go towards the bottom of the page, to the left, it should have a tick box for comments.

Thank you =) il check that out and advise if it worked =)

Thanks for the excellent example. It helps a lot.

Bill

hi, just a quick update. It is still the same. all the box are ticked allow comments but still it was the same. =(
