That is a huge niche and I would advise you to break it down a bit. What does 'pets mean' - domestic, cats, dogs, reptiles...? Then for instances if it was dogs - you could specialise in a breed of dog. :) Beverley

I would narrow your niche - Holistic Pet care, digestive disorders, etc..

When I'm researching my niche I use Google a lot typing in different key word phrases~~for example try searching "behavior problems with pets" or "top behavior issues with dogs (or cats or whatever)" "Common health problems in dogs or cats or whatever" "best supplements for dogs" something to that nature then that way you can get a good idea on what people are searching for. I hope that helps.

Try searching different word or phrases in that niche.

Do your research, check with Google, decide on your keywords, and go for it.
