Hey Friends

I'd like to borrow a little of your time to share a little more of who I am, and where I'm going. Hopefully, Whoever and wherever you are, my words might serve to inspire. Actually, undertaking writing this, was inspired by a kindred Spirit I recently met here.

Thanks Don T.

Bite Me...!

When Life Bites, Bite back

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.

~Richard Bach

First let me bring some of you who don't already know me much, up to speed. A few years ago, due to an electrical accident, I lost my lower right arm, actually it melted. Doctors wanted to take my left one too, well I put a stop to that, even though they were sure I'd never use it again. HA, I fooled them!

I was told I'd be in the hospital for 3 to 4 months, I signed my release papers in under a month, I just couldn't deal with the 4 walls anymore, and plus I missed Brogue, my King Shepherd.

I had a prescription for Morphine, about a week after getting out I realized I was enjoying these little candies a little too much, so I flushed them down the toilet. Ya, the following months, well the pain was worse than hell. However I did take to drinking quite heavily, and for the next little while, I downed over a litre of vodka, scotch or whiskey a day.

I'm not ashamed of it, nor do I regret it, and I make no excuses for who I've been or who I am.

On With The Saga

Well over the next year, due to finances, I lost my House, my carpentry shop, lock, stock and barrel, sold my goats, and ended up with Brogue in a basement apartment. Thank God I'd given up suckin back the juice quite some time before, or I might of ended up suckin' the barrel of my 12 gauge. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a little convo with Jack, we just don't hang out as much anymore.

I began looking at what I've always wanted to do in Life, two things stood out; one was write, the other was Aid Work. I'd always been involved in local social issues, you know, food banks, blankets for street people in winter, that kind of stuff. However, I wanted to go beyond.

And so it was, after selling off what I had left, I boarded a Boeing for Beirut. well that was two years ago, I've been working with refugees ever since, I've also written my first novel, now being polished up and getting ready for publication.

This is one of my favs pics, taken last year. Saiid, (with short hair) is one of the few male refugees in this camp, the remaining are all widows and children

Enter the World of WA

Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you.

~ Richard Bach

I happed on WA shortly after arriving here, best darn thing that could've happened. Now I was green, pretty close to computer illiterate, so my Angels were indeed looking out for me. I didn't get taken in by endless online scams, nope Newbie as I was, first place I joined was right here, the one and only WA.

I've learned so much here, in fact WA as well as members, who now have become Friends and some even Family, played an instrumental role in both writing my book, and success with other projects I'm working on for refugees. Speaking of which, I've seen a few things here, as well as having been squeezed into situations I'd rather forget, although I know I never will.

So where on Earth from here?

Well you see I've got a plan, after setting up few projects I've got on the go here, which I'm giving it under another year, I'm pencilling in some "Me time, heck I've even got a vision board set up. And if you don't mind, I'd like to share a few of my Pin Ups with you.

From here I'm hoping to head to Ecuador, pick up a few relatively remote acres on the Pacific. Take time to build a humble hacienda, and a not so humble studio/workshop.

Let me Share some pics I've pinned up

My Vision Board

When we hold something, anything, in our thought, then somehow coincidence leads us in the direction that we've been wishing to lead ourselves

How I "visualize" my humble Abode

Pick up an old Rover I can haul into my shop and work on,

"My Dream Ride". Once I've sold lots of books, and my websites are rockin'

Salvage an old sailboat

Yup, beach parties. I even visualize a few WA Brothers and Sisters here. :)

And Last, But not Least

A funky Kitchen, with a lot of good

cookin' goin on...

Well that's all for now Folks, hope you enjoyed sharing my Vision Board :)

Good early morning Jozeph. Couldn't sleep so got up to visit some of my friends. You really got a story. Maybe someday I'll tell mine, but right now I'm trying to get my website up and going.
Have a great day Joseph.

Thanks George, to your success my Friend

one day Jozeph I will have to tell a story of the man that I chase after still at my age of 51 and he is 76. Keep up that fire that you have. You will achieve your dream and once you have your Indian I would love to come and ride with ya as long as you don't mind.

Jim

Hey Jim, will be a pleasure. You might not have to wait until I get my Indian, I've got a decent 1100cc Virago in storage back in Canada, vintage but really low mileage (one of the few things I hung on to) I modified it to a left hand throttle,. got an automatic clutch made up for it by an outfit out of Michigan, so I could shift things around. A suicide shift was out of the question, though I entertained the idea then thought better, got enough body parts missing lol.
I'd love to ride it down to Ecuador, I hear the boat trip across the Darien Gap from Panama to Colombia is a blast, just a great bunch of people.
So hey, keep in touch :)

we have an 05 Roadstar. nice bike to ride as well. would be an honor to ride with you.

Feeling is mutual my Friend:)
That's a nice ride !

Hi Joseph, inspirational! They say fortune favors the brave, and you must be pretty near the front of the queue. Have a great day, and stay safe bro.

Jozeph that was one awesome story dude. Glad ya made it through all that tough time. Couldn't have been fun.

We are sorta alike in future vision except the Ecuador thing for me is a remote area of the Rockies with no people, just some wolves for friends.

Hey PaulThanks for chiming in, much appreciated

I have to say there was a time when being secluded from the rest of humanity was appealing and I Love nature, lived there most of my life.

But when I think of all the beautiful Souls I have left to meet, it outdoes, outranks, and makes it well worth having to put up with a few pinheads, lol

Thanks for chiming in, much appreciated
