Hey folks,

Curious how many of you use Instagram. Would love to hear how you feel it enhances your brand and what strategies you use to get followers. I know I asked a q

To have real success with Instagram, you've gotta be spending a lot of your time engaging with people on posts. Plus the best way to get lots of followers is to post several times per day with using lots of hash tags too.

One post I did received about 60 likes within the space of 10 mins and I also had followers. I've not been active on Instagram for at least 2 weeks but still keep getting post comments and followers each day. It's all about the #hashtags. ;)

The only thing with Instagram, like twitter, there's too much noise coz you see everything from everyone.

I've also found a lot of fake people on Instagram. They claim to be experts of "x, y and z", follow you but unfollow you once you follow them back. It's a trick to make them look popular, lol.

If you want to build your brand, my advice is just to be yourself and be as helpful to as many people as possible. Once you get yourself out there, people will start checking out your profile, url, and messaging you. :)

Just don't follow and unfollow a load of people because too many are using Instagram as a place for "popularity competitions!"

Personally, I'm not as socially active as I used to be on social media platforms because you've gotta decide to either put all of your time and effort into blogging and WA OR spend a lot of time relationship building across several networks. It's too time consuming to do both.

Unless you can find the hours in the day to balance the workload.

Neil

Thanks, Neil That's very insightful.

You're welcome, Joy! :)

Yes, I use instagram, I think its great to promote product particulars. They've also made some recent updates that make the instagram user experience more pleasant.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Insta!

Yes I do I promote Posts from my website on Instagram

Awesome!

I run ads on my Shopify site and post to Instagram (Facebook too) I've gotten quite a few clicks but no sales yet.

Nice, that's a great start!

The trick to Instagram is to use the right hashtags. I have posted on Instagram many times. I have used the right hashtags and got likes and other times nothing.

If my followers were affiliate marketers or work at home I would use #affiliate #workathome something like that.

This page here has some pretty popular hashtags that work well. If I find a good hashtag I will usually get likes and followers.

http://www.tagsforlikes.com/

Cool, thanks!

This isn't helpful for you but no, I don't use it. I just haven't gotten around to it. I only used Flipboard and just last night started with Facebook (and made 5 sales!!) by joining relevant groups.

Wow! I forgot to check out Flipboard (I remember you mentioned it before! ) Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration!

I was shocked the Facebook groups were so easy and resulted in 5 sales right away...I should have done that ages ago!

Would also love some feedback/info on this subject to Joy. I'm told at both Instagram and LinkedIn tons of traffic can be created, try this url link I googled up: http://bit.ly/2fK7PJm

Thanks!

Have fun with it, post quotes and use hash tags I've followed you. https://www.instagram.com/scott_penton/

Thanks, Scott! I think I need an Insta theme. I am flying blind with no purpose at the moment, need to get in the zone :)

I would recommend posting more niche/business relevant stuffs such as tips and quotes. One common mistake is to mix up your personal instagram account with your business instagram account. People tend to post personal stuffs in their business instagram account. I saw you are posting a lot of personal things that are not related to your niche.

Another thing is that you should add your website url at the bottom or corner of every image. It can generate more traffic as well if people really love the things you share. This is going for branding.

Also, you need to work on your personal profile. Cuz you can't insert any url in instagram posts. The only place is at your profile. You don't have an URL right now. You should also polish your description. Don't just put yoga, blogging.... make people want to click on your URL!!

Thanks. When I started out I was just going to have this be my personal account which is why it's like that. I don't think I really have a fully developed re-focused brand yet, that's my main issue :) My old brand was very clear. I am actually considering sticking with my original brand but just re-focusing it.

Be clear what you want to focus on so that your visitors are clear too. If you are still not sure yourself, your visitors will be even more clueless.

So make up your mind first before you start on anything again :)

Excellent pointer!

Hi Joy. So far I have not used Instagram - I will be looking into it at some point though. I am not quite sure how to work it but I will get there.....I guess!

:) Good luck with it yourself!

One of the leading platforms I have seen for trading domains is Protrada. Tried for a while but I don't think I understood what I was doing.

Awesome, thanks!

I've seen some ridiculous prices for domain names while searching on GoDaddy. Some as high as $50,000.
Who in there right mind would pay that much?
I wonder how you determined there value.
Certainly worth researching.

Flippa is a good platform for that, if aged, you could make quite some. Domain names, just like wine, get better with age :)

Thanks!

Hi. Just sent you a PM with place to sell or buy domains.
Hope it helps

Thank you, I responded!

Hi Joy,
I know of people who have made considerable amount of money selling their domains and wish I could give you a good lead but I am not there yet.
Wishing you the best.

Thanks anyways Lisa!

I will see you in the challenge Bruce! Yes, I just challenged you , lol! Blessings, Joy

I can imagine that it would be a point in time where you'd run out of ideas! I dread that day!!

Hasn't happened to me yet, lol. I guess I have a lot to express!

Good writing is an art from brainstorming content ideas to fleshing them out. Best wises to your endeavors Joy!

Thanks!

Thanks for the generous offer. I'll take you up on it very soon as I've been struggling a bit in this area.

Yay! I look forward to seeing you in the challenge! - Joy

Well this is just FABULOUS!!!

Thanks Sistah! hope to see you in the challenge! It's already kickin my ass into motion, lol!

I'm just making my way home Joy, but I'm going to read your training, fully, when I get settled.

Although I haven't asked anyone about writing content (I just thought I'd just have to figure it out) this has been somewhat......troubling. Last Saturday, I though I'd be able to write 3 posts.......I only wrote one, and that one took hours......seriously. Writing posts within the WA community has definitely allowed me to "find" my own style of writing, but I assumed that practice would make writing content for my blogs, soooooo much easier.....never could I have been more far from the truth.

I'll have to think and pray about the challenge.....quite frankly, I'm already scared, and I haven't even read your training yet!!! Perhaps I just need to awaken the lioness within, and just go for it!

Just read it one day at a time, write, publish and share. That doesn;t sound so scary does it? You've got this and yes, embrace and unleash your inner lioness! - Joy

OK......did you just draw that in thr past minute Joy, lol.

Lol no I did not...

Hmmmm.....why don't I believe you, lol. But if you didn't, I wouldn't be surprised if you could. All I ask, is if you should ever become Queen, just appoint me to be one of your subjects, like the cupbearer or something, so I could witness your greatness up close and personal, lol.

Lol oh my goddess you crack me up chick! We should definitely have drinks and go dancing somehow sometime...once we both have accomplished time and money freedom!

That would be fabulous Sistah.....I mean......your highness, lol

Thank you for offering. It sounds like a great tool & I will try it soon. Keep up the good work!

Awesome, I look forward to seeing you in the challenge when it works for you! - Joy

that looks promising. I will join also :)

See you in the challenge! Yay! - Joy

I have bookmarked your training, Joy! I'll begin tommorow!!!

YAY! I am so excited to do this challenge with you! You go! - Joy

This is really great .. and I am not ready for it at the moment, hopefully in the future. Thank you for offering this! Cheers, William.

Hey William, I was hoping to see you in the challenge. As an accountability measure, please keep me in your mind and when you know you are ready, drop me a message so I can help motivate you! I would love to see you succeed! I LOVE helping people achieve their dreams! - Joy

Great!!!!... thank you so much!!!

I know it's a big commitment to write content, publish and post daily but it is so worth it! I hope to see you in the challenge today! - Joy

SuzQ has nailed it below .. I would also add a FaceBook Like Page and use a low budget to boost posts .. maybe $1 a day everyday if you have the budget .. if not then run patterns of $1 for seven days then stop for 7 then 7 again.

Also your branding should be consistent .. fliers/business cards/ webpage/facebook all the same. You probably already do that .. and brand you not your business.

Thanks, William!

Since you do coaching I would hit businesses and the school district for some training

Thanks!

I was thinking person to person..

In near future this question is helpful for me .

Good luck with your venture!

Yes, list your business with your new location in local online business directories with maps, like Yelp, Yellowbook, Foursquare, etc.

Find local alternative health events, fair, etc. Some can be found on those directories.

Set up a small display with small giveaways, a running video screen with your YouTube videos or scrolling pics of services you offer. Your target audience will be all around you. Be creative and capture their eye. Personalize.

Contact other businesses similar to yours in your new local. Joint promotions demonstrate community even within larger cities. Gift certificates for consultations are big for upcoming holiday gifts.

Exciting move, congrats, and wishing you the best with it!

Incredibly helpful advice and resources, thank you so much! - Joy

Hi Joy, I scoured the four corners of WA a while back and compiled all of the local marketing training as I was creating a website for a local cleaning business.

Oh wow! Thanks so much that is truly helpful!

Jay has done a ton of webinars on Local Marketing.
Check out the Live Video Classes https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/webinar
or do a search for Local at the top pf the page
here are a couple

Oh wow. Thank you so much. I didn't even think to search the community, lol. Still learning how to maximize my use of WA. That was very thoughtful of you, thanks! -Joy

The key for local is getting in the top 3 in the business maps listing service as they show above the organic listings in search for local.

That is done through setting up your Google My Business page and getting more high quality citations than your competition.

Getting your website ranked high in the organic listings can produce a lot of leads but the maps is where the bulk of your leads will typically come from.

Business Facebook pages and YouTube promotional videos typically rank very high in search for local businesses so don't overlook these lead sources.

I typically work with home service type businesses but the techniques for ranking in maps/search for your business should be the same.

Hope this helps.

That is immensely helpful, thank you so much for sharing! Deeply appreciated! - Joy

Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone in the community has tried Top Tier Side Income. If so, and you feel comfortable, please share your experience. It is one of the prog

Hey,
I too am interested in that program, but from some of the reviews I read, it seems a little fishy.
But since you are now inside it, I would bank on your feedback to take my decision as well.
Do let me know how it goes.
All the best!!

I am writing about the process on laptopdiva.com to share what I learn....you are welcome to follow my journey. I have my first one-on-one coaching check in today.

Personal development courses all have different price points. American Management Assocapiation has PD workshops that start at $1000. I went to two executive leadership conferences at one of the top American universities. 3 days each at over $10,000 per conference. (Employer paid.)

Bottom line is you gotta pay to play.

The value is what they teach and who does the teaching. Determining the value is a personal evaluation.

So MOBE or Empower may be of value, but certainly not scams.

Awesome insights. Thank you.

Seems that this is somewhat associated with MOBE by Matt Lloyd.

I have looked at their business opportunity and to me it appears legitimate. You can make money and it is not illegal.

Very similar to Empower network in the sense that it offers courses on how to market products digitally. Very high buy in but this also means higher commissions.

I know of many people within MOBE who are making very big money. You are selling very high ticket items, so it requires skill. Relationship building etc. Not something you can just spam a link and expect to make bank.

I would wager to say that people in WA use the scam word too freely. Anything that doesn't work for them is a scam. If they fail at something, scam. It's a good way to opt out of the responsibility for your own success. So I would suggest taking that advice lightly.

I have done quite a bit of research into some of their more recent top performers and I dare say they are legitimate people earning legitimate money.

An interesting aspect of their program is that you are passed from one step to the next by your coach. You can't just skip ahead and you also can't be an affiliate until you actually complete each step of the training.

Also, now that I am inside (for $7 how could I not at least check it out?) I am not getting huge promises...I am interested to see what happens with my coach Monday.

We have a Skype session. Curiouser and curiouser...

Joy

MOBE also offered you a sales team to call your prospects and close for you (for a lesser commission). This was huge in IM.

There are some very legitimate people earning big money in MOBE.

I fully agree. As I dig deeper I am realizing that it is legit just higher priced sales so more skills and focus required.

exactly my friend, better marketing chops required!

Then there's Joy over here drowning in tech issues lol.

*inflates lift raft* here you go my friend lol

Note: I never said it was a scam. Too expensive! Mabe if I had 'extra money' & could afford it I would probably try it. Then I'd have a better answer.

It was actually another user who mentioned the possibility of it being a scam. But hey, we all have the right to our own thoughts and opinions. Thanks for digging deeper and sharing! - Joy

I've had a few run ins with scams. Got lucky with WA. Never tried the one you're interested in. Now, I'm curious! lol

Hi Joy, ScamXposer.com has done a review of Top Tier. Check it out.

Thank you! I will definitely read it.

I joined it before WA it's a big scam and the further you go threw
the program the more it cost you ,your so called coach talks to you on skype and there is no community and I believe its the same as the digital altitude .

Wow, thanks for the heads up!

Just because a program has upsells does not make it a "big scam".

Do we call MacDonalds a scam since they give you the option to "upsize your combo" for an additional price? No we don't.

Excellent point.

if I am one thing, it is pointy LOL

when there is an upfront fee to pay in order to join the group, without any work, it is obviously a scam. Don't waste your hard earn money.

It is a scheme to attract people to join without any hard work. People using the greedy weakness of the majority people. It is a conman world. Be aware.

Conman World. Love it. Thanks for the advice! - Joy

Literally just bought that domain name. ConmanWorld.com

There is an upfront fee to join WA wongskcom, does that make WA a scam? No it doesn't. Anything that is of value, will have some sort of fee. How else are companies supposed to stay open?

I was thinking that after reading the comment...

Um...it's free to join WA and check it out. There's no upfront fee.

there is a free trail for 7 days before joining in WA, unlike others course. I narrated my experience here

http://usurehappy.com/honest-review-wealthy-affiliate-vs-internet-income-intensive-scam

I will definitely read it. I will also mention that they now have a $7 trial so you can check out the system before making a larger financial commitment. Peace, Joy

Thanks for using the Conmanworld.com. In the local daily newspapers, there are women being conned by those conmen using the "love" as a baited lure them to transfer their hard sweat money to them. Some are the career woman or single lonely woman who are desperate for love.

Yes, free initially, but to really use WA to its full potential, one needs to be premium and has to commit money upfront.

I agreed, but the fee for a whole year training is merely only $359.00, which is insignificantly comparing with $10,000.00 I have to pay for 6 days course.

Sometimes the bigger the risk the better the payout...not sure if that's the case with Top Tier but I certainly know that some people are making incredibly good money from the system while also authentically feeling like they are helping people...I guess if you like it, it's good. - Joy

the choice is yours. You are the ultimate decision maker of your destiny.

Very true, thank you!

I wouldn't do it. The amount of money you spend will eventually be in the 1,000s. That is not including their license.

Excellent advice, thank you! - Joy

Just from looking it up on the Internet, there seems to be a lot of people promoting it and then some reviews that lead back to WA. It had a Multi Level Marketing flavor to the promotions, and if you've ever had any experience with MLM, you know that it's a dead-end proposition. If you're asked to pay anything to become a "member", run the other way. There's a fine line between outright scam and the slow bleed that MLM ends up doing with no success in the end. Better go the way we're being taught here at WA -- legitimate promotion of a product of service that you are qualified to sell.

Hope that helps. Many Blessings. Ted

Thanks Ted! I appreciate your thoughtful response. Joy

I believe this is a newer version of MOBE, use to be called My Top Tier Business by Matthew Lloyd.

I could be wrong.

It has a very similar business model to Empower Network, you have to purchase a reseller license for the higher cost products for $2000 one time fee or you can only promote the 21 step program which pays $20 in commissions per month.

I was with Mobe several years ago and honestly believe Wealthy Affiliate is a better product to promote, however MTTSI does offer some huge commissions if you pay for the license and are able to successfully promote it.

Wish you all the success no matter which way you go.

Thanks for the insight! Yes it is associated with MOBE.

I'm not sure but you just ranked on page one rank 4 for your question in a Google Search.

Type in top tier side income and see.

Wow, it links directly back to WA.

Unless the is a Google Play because of the WA cookie....I don't think so

Wow, that is awesome, something I wouldn't even think to check. Kyle did mention that being ranked in the top 100 on Wealthy Affiliate helps with SEO rankings on Google and I didn't really get what that meant (I have never really tried to rank anywhere). Thanks for pointing this out. Kinda cool lol. - Joy

With that being said, don't wait on an answer from the community.
If you have a guy feeling and then just ranked for your question then make a review before someone else does but not a bridge page.

Full review with value added content that leads to a bridge page or affiliate link even if you are not an affiliate yet.

Get ranked first then shoot to bring an affiliate.

Great job

Hey Shane,

I have never built an affiliate site yet except for my BackyardBrood.com site which is just about my adventures in raising backyard chickens (never done it before so learning the hard way lol).

I want to do affiliate marketing but haven't found a path that feels right and authentic. My core values are focused on transparency, authenticity, honesty and integrity...so once I find an affiliate path that is in line with my core values I will....

I truly appreciate your encouragement!

In community,

Joy

A quick one day effort to make a page and review could give you a good start if you had the time.

It is now second result on page 1. :)

Question is now at #1 - don't ya just love it!

Haha glad someone is paying attention! - Joy
