Pitching Yourself : Value for money
When you pitch yourself, is it value for money or are you wasting your time?
I sat in a meeting this morning, letting others pick my brain. That was what the meeting was about "the curator's meeting". I was the curator. Unpaid. I was invited by someone I met recently at an art exhibition, if they could consult me for an exhibition space. An architect would be paid to design it - according to my advise. Of course I was excited by the opportunity to work in my field and especially in an incredible space - an old bank built in 1800s. I could have asked for money - I didn't, why didn't I? Am I too nice?
I left the meeting feeling pumped, and yet, when I told my son about the meeting - I realised no amounts of money was mentioned for my brain being picked.
I guess sometimes, you have to pitch yourself - even when you are not paid or rewarded. The thought or question has often bothered me.
When you pitch yourself, is it value for money or are you wasting your time?Sometimes others mean well, but if they can have you for free - they will. You must believe somewhere in your heart that the universe is listening...one day, it will all come back. Hope! If not get paid!
But rather than sitting and waiting for the universe to talk to me, I want to get into my WA - at least I have the key to make things happen. I survived my first day as premium member in WA and have learnt a lot. Thank you all. Have a great weekend friends! I will be busy talking to my plants.
