Don't worry about a thing !
It is a habit that people have exercised over the ages and we, with all our modern values and thinking, still worry. We look ahead and worry about what might happen. In our minds we create a whole drama around the possibilities. We look at other people's experiences and see ourselves dealing with the same challenges, even though their conditions are different. We see ads about diseases and worry when we have a little discomfort in that area of our bodies.
What does that do to us? We have symptoms of anxiety and the body goes into stress mode, secreting all kind of harmful chemicals. We infuse our environment, family and colleagues with fears about things that might never happen. After the challenge has passed we worry if we did the right thing.
Looking back, we remember other times when we were so worried and the act of worrying didn't change the outcome, and somehow we were able to cope with the event.
So then, we understand that worrying makes no sense at all. As a performer over the years, anxiety sets in from time to time, and I have learned to stop it in its tracks at the onset. I say to myself , audibly, "Joy there is nothing to worry about. You have done this hundreds of times. All is well." When those nagging "what if" thoughts won't leave I literally stamp my foot and say "Shut up ! I am not working with you today! Get behind me!!".
Yes, you have to take forceful action, and realign your perspective. DON'T WORRY ABOUT A THING.
What do you do when you find yourself worrying ?

Thank you for sharing. Very true, I need to stomp my foot, I will be at it all day! What ever happens will happen, no matter worry or talking about it.
Giggles~ such an on time message. I love the last part!
Keep doing what 'you' do Joy- putting behind anything that doesn't serve you.
Blessings~
You are right. Worry does not solve the problem. We should all think about ways to solve a problem instead of wasting energy worrying.
It is not always easy to do, though.

I know I am a worrier. I worry all the time. It's in my nature as a mom I think. I have PTSD and anxiety disorder, so what I do to not worry so much may be different then others.
For me, I have found it is therapeutic to work on my website. So, when my anxiety is out the roof, usually I am pounding away at my keyboard.

Hi Joy,
I do what I call a “push back”. I disassociate myself with whatever is worrying me for a period of time. When I feel I’m in a better state of mind, I go back and deal with the situation with a renewed perspective. Seems to work for me.
That is such a good concept. Thank you !!!
