Two Years At Wealthy Affiliate!

So this month I hit the two-year mark of being an affiliate warrior! TWO YEARS!?? Yep two long years! And you would wonder what I have to show for after these two years! One is the tenacity to stay on! It is not a joke typing thousands of words, posting hundreds of images on WA blogs and in 4 plus websites!

Now you are wondering what the chess board image above means for this post! Well, it feels like these two years has been a very long chess game for me! I haven't lost the game and I have not won it either! I am still contemplating my moves, making decisions, getting confused, getting tired and frustrated, re-grouping and occasionally making some winning moves.

Best of all, I have learned parts of how to play what seems to be the game of chess! In this case I have learned some facets of online marketing, building websites and all that good stuff. At two years, I feel I have got a long way to go still.

Am I Delirious Over My Accomplishments?

In the Navy we would say, 'I am so happy I could s..t!' Ha ha ha! But it remains that in every game of chess, the players have under their control what pieces to move in order to have an advantage over the opponent and eventually win?

We the players/students who want to win will have to beat all the hurdles that the training throws at us. We the students have to beat the heck out of the training which means we have to master the training. That is how we win. So have we beat the training? Have we mastered it? Have I? No, I am not getting traffic. So is the training beating me? So where did I miss things?

Excuses Are For Ninnies!

Ninnies?! So here comes another word I learned in thar there Navy! Our boss would say, 'I don't care how you do it just get it done and get it done right and on time!' No excuses! And in the military, a subordinate's vocabulary when responding to superiors is very limited to 'yes sir'!

We have to stay on our toes and think as we go. Solutions are what we always have to look for! So now if you are one of those who for six months, one year or two years or more haven't seen much traffic or sales through your websites, it is time to regroup! Or is it?

So Regroup It Is!

Where the heck are we messing up! What are the errors that we are making? What decisions did we botch? Do we need to re-group? And how do we re-group? I have always believed that there is a lot of teamwork and collaboration in Wealthy Affiliate.

There is one teamwork that I would like to see among members however that is not yet happening. Would it not be sweet if we have a collaboration where members evaluating other members on the state of our websites? I mean hard core evaluations and never mind the ever-flowery praises that don't result in positive transformations of websites. I would not mind getting my websites evaluated/torn apart by some of the masters if it would result in specific changes that will improve its overall performance, wouldn't you?

Curiosity Produced A Result!

If not a member-to-member hard-nosed kind of evaluation for the sake of improving all-members' websites performance accross the board, what else could we do? Site Support informed me that we have no such thing going on in Wealthy Affiliate.

So I googled it! I typed 'free website evaluation online' and lo and behold, there are quite a few of them...not free forever however.

Here is one: https://www.woorank.com/ . Click the site. Input your website address and it will spit out some kind of analysis of your website. I am not yet familiar with the evaluation result but I am encouraged! Check it out and let us know what you dig up!

Now wouldn't it be nice if we had something like this within WA? Go through the training, do all the homework, then feed the product to a website evaluation software. WA and Members join hands in reviewing the evaluation results, decide and home in on the problems found and come up with the necessary fixes!

How Else Are We To Test Just How Effective Our Websites Are?

By thinking we have a good website while we do not know for sure if we really have a good website, we are reduced to the post-it-out-there-and-wait-and-see kind of approach. And we could wait for a long time and get no results. I believe that as we work on our websites, our websites have to be CONSTANTLY EVALUATED OR GRADED by the experts so that when it has passed a certain criteria it could then get published. The chances that these websites will pull traffic and make sales will be a lot higher.

Praising Each Other's Work Even If They Stink Is Partly Good But I Would Rather Get A Good Amount of Constructive Criticism and Critique And End Up With A Productive Website!

Yep that is a statement that I could repeat all day long for weeks. If we could move a notch above the flowery, 'that is a super something that you have created norm that we have here as members' and instead do a hard-hitting critique of each other's work, we might produce websites that are indeed going to be productive.

And that is all for now folks!

Being unhappy with the status quo results in modifications, improvements, major overhauls, sometimes re-starting from scratch.

Here here. I would rather have an honest evaluation than a simple but meaningless "nice looking site. Not somebody telling what I did eight but telling me what I did wdong and how to fix it.

I'm going to try that evaluation site. Thanks.

I hear you Neil!

No more 'very nice websites' that do not pull traffic!

Thanks for dropping by!

Joe

Joe,
Congrats on being here two years and for all your wonderful accomplishments.

Barbara

Thanks Barbara!

Wonderful to me would be 'traffic plus sales'...ha ha ha.

I appreciate your support!

Joe

I hear you, Joe.
I'm in the same boat.

Barbara

I have always known that admission of reality leads to re-alignment and re-direction eventually finding the path to success.

Thanks for dropping by! The best to you Barbara!

Joe

You're very welcome, Joe.

Barbara

Congratulations on your badge

Thanks Lisa!

A badge in this business without 'traffic and sales' is no badge of success...so re-grouping is a must!

Thanks for the support!

Joe

Thanks for the support Dorrie!

The best to you!
