Level 1 Completed

Just wanted to share that I just completed Level 1 training. Took longer than I expected, but then I hadn't anticipated how much resistance I was going to face along the way. All the stuff that interfered in previous attempts at building a commercial website reared their ugly mugs and tried to prevent me getting through. Biggest uglies were:

  • Choosing a niche
  • Creating an "About Me" page"
  • Getting the menus and navigation to behave. Honestly, I'm still working on improving that one, but managed to get through that lesson by following the exact steps in the video.

I am starting level two and plan to up my game now by setting training objectives and tracking my progress with Excel and using Trello to help manage my process. I'll be posting my results here when I complete Level 2.

Before I sign off, I'd like to express thanks to Kyle, Boomer, and other members who provided helpful tips and encouragement along the way.

Thanks, all!

Congratulations. It only get's better from here.

Rick

Thanks, Rick, I like your forecast!

Read your bio, and it looks like we share a love of the mountains and a long-term commitment to Engineering. In my case, Industrial. Also, I'm going to be posting a blog about a recent trip to cross-country ski on Mt Shasta, CA, sometime later this week.

I love that picture of you sitting by the window with the fir trees outside. Was that picture taken in Northern California?

You're making me miss the mountains.

Rick

Hey Rick -

Picture was a view from our cabin window at Lake of the Woods, Oregon, elevation about 5,000 feet, taken on our 42nd wedding anniversary two years ago.

And you know what, I'm missing the mountains too! Spending more time up there is part of my WA dream.

Congratulations! You were wise to take your time until you had everything figured out. This isn't a race, it's an education, so taking whatever time you need is the right thing to do.

Thanks for the note, JeannineC. I really appreciate the positive reinforcement!

You have my "follow."
