Currently managing a retail piano store part-time in southern Oregon, where I also repair digital pianos.

Numbers nut, project junkie, fitness addict, fugitive writer, currently trying to learn how to put my money to work through options trading, and jump-starting an affiliate marketing business with Wealthy Affiliate, practicing Bach's Fughetta # XV and Goldberg Variations 1-5, & 7 for piano. And, oh yeah, learning some basics of TaiChi and line-dancing.

Last week had my mind blown by the sheer exhilaration of spending two and a half hours 7,000 ft up Mt. Shasta on cross-country skis for the first time in 20 years! I'd like to return to there on a regular basis.

Thank you Jon for the follow and many blessings to you here at WA. When first starting your affiliate marketing website many members have problems coming up with niche ideas.

Probably the one main problem is that people tend to over-think the simple process of finding a niche. Just sit back and look around you. You have niches everywhere. You are even wearing different niches.

Though it is important to fully understand that any niche can be profitable, there are certain niche markets that will be more profitable than others. You might think that the market is saturated but there is plenty of room to earn.

The niches in these 2 types of profitable categories (Evergreen and Passions) are plentiful and broad. Like all niches they will need to be narrow and focused. The more they are, the more profitable they become.

I created a tutorial that explains the differences in these two groups and provide you with many niche and sub niche ideas for each category. If you are having problems choosing a niche, click the link below.

Hello JonnyW

Congratulations on going Premium.

I just wanted to say that while there is much value to be had here at Wealthy Affiliate, it can sometimes seem very overwhelming, with everything that has to be done.

My advice from experience is to focus totally on one of the training directions, the green certification OR the Bootcamp, and to stick with that until you have finished it.

Wishing you every success with your business.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Thank you for following up, Kyle. I'm sending you and Carson the same info in response to your offer of assistance in finding a niche.

I am in the middle of choosing a niche. I thought it would be simply a matter of picking something I was currently interested in learning about, and picking an affiliate program to work with. But as I got into the process, I found out that it's a bit more challenging than I had thought!

As a result, I wrote up some of my my thoughts and questions in a blog post which just appeared (Choosing a Niche, More Questions Than Answers So Far)

At this point I'm trying to decide whether to go with my background in real estate investing, or my love of writing and journaling. I've come up with a some interesting information, products and affiliate programs so far, but as I indicate in my blog post, I'm not sure how to move forward. Would appreciate any comments you'd like to make.

If you have a minute, you might take a look at the Blog for more specific.

If you love writing, you can honestly head in absolutely any direction you like. At the core, every website and the success of a website is based on writing...and you can work to become an expert within absolutely any niche you want.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

And don't worry about affiliate programs at this point, there will be 1,000's of products and services that you are going to be able to promote in absolutely any niche.
