Your Friday 5 Week 8

So, lets get to it, the regular stuff that you are all enjoying

What are we reading this week?

Still on "As a Man Thanketh" by James Allen written in 1903. This book is an old classic and is all about the mind. Here is another great piece from it and is very thought provoking:

"Cherish your visions. Cherish your ideals. Cherish the music that stirs your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built."

Lovely stuff. Enjoy, as next week I will be into something different!

What are we grateful for?

We are grateful for so many amazingly gifted people here at WA who are always willing to share their thoughts and skills.

We have been online full time for 10 years this month and yet we have learned so much since we arrived at WA just 2 months ago.

What is our favourite quote of the week?

What we are learning?

This week we have been immersed in Messenger marketing! Wow! Chatbots knock email marketing out of the park. With messenger marketing having 14 times the open and click through rates of email marketing you NEED to get involved!

What has been our biggest success this week?

Our biggest success has been having the revelation that we have been aiming our products and services at the wrong section of our crowd!! Duh!!

I am on the list of an awesome UK marketer (Jon Street) who is heavily into the psychology of selling. He writes very long, but awesome emails filled with absolute gold dust! Today he was talking about the fact that people are made up of 3 types of personality - Judge, Victim and Hero.

You have the Judge, who lives in a world of "Should's" and "Shouldn'ts".

The Victim, who lives in a world "Can'ts" and "Won'ts".

And then you have the Hero... He/she refuses to listen to the other 2 and lives for "Can" and "Will"

Most marketers promote to the Hero in people - the aspiration. For example the laptop lifestyle, the toned 6 pack abs etc

But this is not the best policy as people have been striving for this for so long that they are harder to convince that it is possible.

What we should be doing is promoting to their Judge and Victim with full on empathy so that they feel like we understand them and their tribulations! Then they are easier to convince that YOU are their messiah (the one with the answer)!!

So, with this in mind, take a look at who/what section of your market you are spending your ad budget on. Are you trying too hard to convince people or is their an easier solution - just by showing them that you understand them.

Give it some thought....
