Are You Laser Focused?
Debbie and I were having a chat this lunchtime about focus. I know, we need to get out more!!!
We were getting a bit frustrated with our lack of forward movement with the business and so we were trying to come up with reasons why.
We are very big on mindset so we delved into that area for a while. This prompted a lot of questions about desire, focus, positive mindset and the like.
Then it hit us!
We do visualisations most days and we have a vision book filled with aspirations and dreams. But are we spreading our desire too thin?
Our daughter is currently at University training to be a primary school teacher. Since a young age she has wanted to be a primary school teacher at the local school. It is her dream. She is laser focused on it. The job and the place.
Even when she failed nearly all of her mock GCSE's she didn't waver in her faith of her own ability. She picked herself up, dusted herself off, worked like a beaver, shutting herself away for hours and hours. She passed ALL of her GCSE's whe n it came to the actual exams. She sailed through college and got a place at her No. 1 choice university which is only 30 miles away from home.
She is a home bird and not as street wise as most girls her age, so to live away was hugely outside of her comfort zone. But she did it!
All of the making new friends, clubbing and normal uni life has been hard for her to adjust to, but she has conquered her fears.
How?
Because she is so laser focused on her dream to be a primary school teacher that nothing gets in the way.
We have every faith that she will achieve her goal.
She is an inspiration to us and to many people who are not entirely sure what they want in life. For us, we realised that we were aiming for too many goals. It is all very well having dreams about a big house, an expensive car and earning tens of thousands a month in your business.
But...
It is just watering down your ability if you try to juggle all those desires at the same time.
Pick one and stick to it. Then when you have achieved it, pick another one.
For us, it is to get to £5k per month. This gives you the ability to have many of the things that you desire anyway so jettison thoughts of them until you have achieved your main goal.
In our exampe, once we get to £5k a month then we can change it up to £10k a month and so on.
Be specific - be focused - laser focused.
Would love to know what you think.

Thanks for the insightful and actionable reminder. I also liked the scalable part of it towards the end.
We often speak about dreams, but we are not very specific as to WHICH kind of dreams they are.
Some will therefore go on the assumption that they are dreams we have while we sleep. However, those dreams are not dreams we have much control over, as we are sound asleep at that time.
So that leaves us with the other type of dreams, which most of us call daydreams, and those are the types of dreams we should not fade away unachieved.
In order to achieve those, among other things, focus is crucial.
In the past, I had the dream of buying a home in a coastal area and I have kept the promotional photo of the home which was in the realtor's packet on my desk at the office as a motivator. That photo was a daily reminder of my dream and one which helped me, after months of working very long hours - 7:00 am to 11:00 pm preceded and followed by 1 hour commutes each way - and sacrificing family time until that goal was reached.
It wasn't what the materialistic world would call a dream home, however, it was the home of my dreams.
Blessings
I love it! so correct. I have always been very focused since I was a kid. As a child who grew up without a father who passed when I was 4 yrs old, I saw my mother learn how to educate herself, get a job, paid for someone to teach her to drive, then eventually went into the workforce to support myself and 2 sisters.
As the baby of the family, I saw quite a bit, and saw my mothers never wavering diligence to support her children, somehow, I remembered everything she did for us. As I grew and eventually
had my own children, the time came when I chose to raise them alone, and with that came having to go into the world, and being forced to do right and stay focused to have a career and support my children. As a single mother for the majority of their life, unfortunately, my children had not had any interaction with their father, so they focused on what I was doing to raise them. The upside to this is that I raised 3 amazing independent women. Talk about laser focused women. I am so proud. Now I am at my the point in my life, where I am staying focused on MYSELF!
I AM MORE FOCUSED THAN EVER.
Funny thing, when you believe in what you want, you see it, feel it, and cannot wait to see it come to life. This is exactly where I am today. I see the beautiful home I will live in, the travels I will make
and enjoy waking up every morning giving thanks to God for the guidance to pursue my goal.
Did not seem to go off track, but we all have reasons, why we need to stay focused. I am my sole supporter, but I love taking care of myself, and looking forward to the journey of making my internet business a huge success!!
Great reading your message. I relate.

Thanks Fintan.
As much as I would like that, I can see us being like Fulham and Huddersfield are this season and that is no good for anyone. We are getting better but not quite ready for the big time yet!
Thanks Jon.....I agree with you'll 100%...you do have to be laser focused.....because if you don't know where you're going, you can't get there! Thanks for reminding me to FOCUS.
Jon & Debbie,
Funny that this is the first post I read this morning.
I was having similar thoughts yesterday and this morning...
Thank You for bringing it all into Focus!
