Plagiarism is copying from one website. Gathering information from several websites is called research. Of course you would never copy anything word for word :)

So I am attempting to build my first website and I cannot get past some of the most basic things.

2. If you open up the relevant page and click on Screen Options, top far right of your screen, you can tick two boxes, Discussions and Comments. If you then scroll down beneath the editor window, you'll see a new set of options where you can control whether comments appear or not.
3. You need to add it to a menu in Appearance > Menus. Also, click on the Locations tab whilst you're there and make sure you've assigned the menu to a location.
4. Change theme. Customizr is popular with many members at WA. https://wordpress.org/themes/customizr/ There's also extensive documentation on using it here:

The parent theme is missing. Please install the "alhena-lite" parent theme. What does this mean?

1. When attempting to write my first "Post" it tells me my content is not unique, but does not tell me what to fix.
2. I published a "page" and a "post" on my site. The "page" I posted was the privacy policy, and on the training video it says that there shouldn't be a place for people to post comments on the privacy policy, yet when I preview my page, there is a place for comments even though it is a "PAGE"
3. My Privacy policy needs to be searched for on my page.
4. I get an error message that says- "The parent theme is missing. Please install the "alhena-lite" parent theme."
Again, I am attempting to do the most basic of tasks and can't even get past these small hurdles. :(
Looks like you are using a theme which is a child theme of the one you mentioned, so the former needs some settings from the latter.

A Lot of affiliate programs what you to have a website. Now if I want to promote a certain company/product, but need their permission first, how in the world can I have a websi
You'll find most affiliate programs want to see an established site with traffic before they will approve you, there are some like Amazon that will accept "barely there" sites, but even they expect you to make sales within a given time frame. If you don't have any traffic, you're in effect offering to advertise to... no-one.
What's the best way to start a website with good traffic flow? Say for example I want to make a website about debt consolidation. (There are many debt consolidation affiliate programs). Are you saying I would have to make a website about debt consolidation and get traffic, but not specific to any company before any company will allow me to become an affiliate for them? It just seems backwards. Again, I do appreciate your help.
That's usually how it works, why would any company want another website just focused on promoting them and asking them to pay for the privilege, it's what their own website is for!! :)

Help needed! I have come up with a niche, but the product (niche) I want to use does not have a lot of results on Amazon, maybe a few pages. There are other websites that offer

Have a look at Amazon's affiliate program to get a better idea of how it all works affiliate-program.amazon.com
As I said, Amazon isn't the only game in town, there's ebay, Walmart, Microsoft, iTunes, etc. depending on your niche, there's also hundreds of thousands of smaller affiliate programs.
Also, bear in mind that affiliation is just one source of revenue, you should combine it with advertising, own products, etc.
