Wife Update

Hi All WA friends,

Many of you have kindly been asking how my wife has been doing, I really appreciate your concern.

A week ago she thought her hip may be on it's way to fracturing for the 3rd time, my wife was that convinced and worried she rang her consultants secretary, who told her she had to go through her GP (Doctor).

After speaking with her doctor, he emailed my wife's consultant immediately. Resulting in an appointment being arranged for Wednesday 12th April. Her Hip had x-rays taken and after the consultant had a look at all these x-rays, gave her his opinion.

He asked, why did she think her hip had started to fracture again, in reply my wife said it felt different to previous days and weeks. The consultant then informed her of the good news, all the x-rays revealed everything was still in place and fine.

She has been told to weight bear on her leg now, but not stamp her foot down on the ground. The consultant wants to see my wife again in a few months, so at the moment all is progressing and healing as planned.

She is still walking around on crutches and understandably, is still low on confidence. I am sure she has in the back of her mind, it is going to fracture again and waiting for the crack. Any slip with the crutches, you can see on her face, "that's damaged it now again". But hopefully over time, confidence and strength of the hip will help her not to worry over further problems.

I hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend and enjoyed your visits out and about.

Thank you,

John

I am pleased to read of your wife's progress John. May her hip continue to grow in strength.

Thank you, Valerie.

I do hope it keeps improving, with no more setbacks. Confidence is low with my wife, but should get better as time goes on.

John

Hi, see if this doc is any use to you, or his supplements, he had to fix high fracture rates in himself and now he does iron mans
He is Dr. Keith McCormick of www.osteonaturals.com I don't take his products and am not affiliated, but was impressed at what he achieved

Thank you, Mary.

I will show her your link, she is so used to walking with crutches for 2 years. By giving up her crutch support frightens her.

John

I wish your wife's health and hip comes normal. Make her self-confidence to recover early.
Narasimharao.

Thank you, Narasimharao.

Self-confidence is a problem for my wife, using crutches for 2 years means trying to walk without them frightens her thinking her hip will snap again.
Time is a great healer.

John

Glad to hear that good news! Praying for no more fractures and more confidence!

Thank you, Linda.

Being on crutches for 2 years gives her support, having to try and build strength back in the hip/leg worries my wife thinking it is going to break again.
Hopefully confidence will build as time moves on.

John

Hi John, this is such good news. Just careful steps and weight bearing gently, the hopefully it will get stronger and stronger! I wish you, your wife and the dogs a peaceful, Happy Easter! Keep going, Sue :)

Thank you, Sue.

Happy Easter to you.
Relying on crutches for 2 years means, that moving on to the next stage frightens her as without crutch support frightens her. Thinking with no crutch support her hip/leg will fracture again.
Time is a great healer and hopefully build confidence.

John

Great news, John! I wish you have a Happy Easter!

Thank you, Rebecca.

Happy Easter to you.

Yes it is great news, just got to strengthen her hip now as been on crutches for 2 years.
Still a long road ahead before she is given the all clear, hopefully no more problems await us.

John

Good news John. Thanks for the update. Wish her continuous progress.

Thank you, Oscar.

Things will need to go slowly still, time should build her confidence up, crutches for 2 years then eventually having to walk without them is nerve racking.
But another hurdle to get over.

John

Hello John and in a way it is positive and it is healing so just tell you wife to take thins easy and enjoy the life as thousands of people do not even have legs to walk on

Thank you, Paul.

Yes, healing so the consultant says. Still a long way to go, crutch support for 2 years has given her confidence. Eventually without crutches makes her nervous, thinking that it will fracture again.
But time is a great healer which comes with confidence.

John

Thanks for sharing, John.

Thank you, Roger.

Still a long way to go, but at least everything is still in place. Time is a great healer.

John

You're welcome, John.

I'm glad the hip is not fractured again... Sending you positive thoughts! :D
Happy holidays!
Gerlinde

Thank you, Gerlinde.

Happy holidays to you.
I think it is a confidence builder needed, being on crutches for 2 years makes you worry about attempting to walk without them.
