Why My Wordpress Editor Shows Insecure
Hi My WA Friends,
When you think you have an issue with your website, finding the problem yourself gives you a lot of satisfaction.
After completing my latest post I found in the address bar, the insecure exclamation mark. This was in Wordpress Editor, so coming out of visual I checked the text section making sure everything was https, it was.
Thinking this was a bit strange I decided to check my website, which was showing fine with the Green Padlock and secure. Returning to Wordpress Editor, exclamation mark for insecure how strange.
Really confused now I put a ticket in to Site support, they responded saying to copy and paste my problem post and create a new one. I did as they asked, this time the Green Padlock was on my new copied post.
But after adding a couple of images for my Social Media plugin, the exclamation mark had returned. Getting really fed up and annoyed as this was taking up a lot of time, I found out what the issue is.
When I include images in my social media section of Wordpress Editor, the address bar shows insecure exclamation mark as examples below.
I also have another image section for Pinterest similar to above.
BUT when I delete these images on above and Pinterest as example :-
So as you can see I have deleted these images, NOW the address bar shows the Green Padlock secure.
Remember on my website which is the most important, this post ALWAYS shows the Green Padlock which is what Google wants, whether the images in my social media section are included or not in Wordpress Editor.
Most of the affiliate companies and advertisers I promote do not have the secure Green Padlock in their address bar. In conclusion as long as my website is showing the Green Padlock for all pages and posts, that is all that matters to search engines.
If Wordpress Editor shows an insecure exclamation mark, for including images in the social media section, it is not going to matter. The post on my website shows the Green Padlock that is the important thing.
I don't understand why Editor shows insecure, and yet my website is secure. Has any of you guys got a similar situation or it may have always been like this and I have only just noticed what causes it.

This happened to me also John and I about went crazy trying to figure it out. It ended up being a link that I had added to one of my pages. Took forever to find it. Once I removed it I got the padlock back. No more adding http sites is what I learned. Thanks for sharing your issues with images. Something we all have to be aware of.

I am not worried about editor being insecure as long as my website is Green Padlocked.

As long as your website has the Green Padlock, Editor is not important.
