Patience Is A Virtue

Hi All,

WA friends, please support me in some home truth's, if you have your own take on what I am about to say, let me know.

I have just been on live chat, reading some of the comments. Why are members continually asking how much will they make here on WA, and how long will it take. One member replied, not made a dime. I went on this members profile and found that the member had only joined 6 days ago !!!!

Perhaps I should let it all ride over me, but I feel that we must support Kyle and Carson who set up this wonderful Wealthy Affiliate business. This community is fantastic and second to none in my own opinion, we have all the tools here at WA to give us the best chance of success.

After six days all anyone should be doing is the starter training and tasks. I am quickly coming to the conclusion, we have some bad eggs or hangers on. When we initially sign up at WA, Kyle asks what we would realistically like to achieve which is good. I am a sales representative who has targets to aim for, no harm in that whatsoever.

Once you give Kyle your goals, then move on to your starter training. To be honest, how many of us can remember that first message to Kyle with our figures, not me. We are here to learn and keep learning on building our website, gaining valuable experience along the way.

By making a decision to join WA, this should be an exciting time, be interested in building your very own website, working on a niche that is a favourite subject of yours and forget about earnings. Another thing, when building your business, it continues on, your website will never have an ending. So if you start getting a regular income, brilliant !!!! But there is no such thing as, "made it I can put my feet up now".

This is NOT a get rich quick scheme, there are NO guarantees for success. Nobody can answer how long it will take to start earning, if at all. Hopefully everyone will get to where they want to be, and then keep everything going to be successful.

If you don't want to be in this for the long term and just want a fast pay day, then perhaps this may not be for you. 99.9% of members are WA members for all the right reasons.

Hope all my WA friends are having a very good weekend.

Thank you,

John

I am looking at it from a different point of view. There are many people who are desperate and hope to make money quickly so they jump at the chance of what they think WA presents. Others. with a more secure foundation realize right away that this takes learning, work and time. I guess there are both the ones who really need and the ones who really want quickly.

Hi James,

There has never been any get rich quick schemes, as far as I know. It is made very clear by Kyle, from day one that only scams suggest what these new members want. These questions are asked blindly, because they haven't even began the starter training. After completing this training they would not be asking these questions.

John

That's true. They haven't taken the training.

In my view people that poses such kind of questions a few days after joining WA - even weeks or months after - did not grasp whatever has been taught from the beginning.
This to say I completely agree with you knowing that WA is presented every time as set of invaluable tools and training.
And this is only half of the equation.
People have to complete it with time and effort.

Thank you, Nuno.

They are asking these questions, before going through the starter training. This question would not be asked when this training is completed, these members will then have been told this is a marathon. Now they can decide if they want to continue or not.

John

I understand your concern John. Sometimes people do think WA is a get rich quick scheme. But it is sooo much more. It is sad though, when people are out of work and there is no money. There is a pressure on them that some of us don't have. Even though they are told that it will take time; seems they hope that their case will be different. After all they need cash now, not tomorrow. Tomorrow's big pay day doesn't pay today's bills. They start because it's free. Then they don't even have $19 to go premium. Many people quit at this point or the next month when they have to pay full price. I understand the pressure they are under; but, like you, I think that if they need money yesterday, they are most likely in the wrong place.

Hi Jean,

Great response as always, when I did my research I found loads of get rich quick schemes online, but instead of diving in I was very suspicious, did a lot of digging around and after reading comments, stayed clear.
When I researched WA, it was very clear by comments I read by existing members etc WA is not a get rich quick website.
It seems these new members dive in feet first without doing any research.

John

Excellent post, John, like everything in life it takes time, there seems to be a disconnect when it comes to internet marketing sometimes.

Hi Alexander,

Nice to hear from you again, these comments seem to be on the increase. WA never says it is a get rich quick scheme, infact Kyle, makes it clear that this is a marathon. I think these new members who ask these questions, need to take a step back, and do some research or starter training where their questions will be answered in no uncertain terms.

John

Very well said! I agree with you John, after 6 days, they had no real reason to speak up yet. It hurts our outlook to new members when they hear things like that. I have not been here that long (longer than 6 days though) but I know it is going to take me time to earn an income from here.
I want the goal I set of earning enough to be able to let my fiance walk away from her desk job and join me here. I can't say enough good things about WA to anyone who asks and to those who even look in my direction and see me smiling. I tell them why I am smiling. I tell them I have a future that looks bright thanks to WA.

Hi Michael,

As per my blog, 99.9% of WA members are fine. I have just noticed recently that this question is increasing, these new members are not doing their research which seems to me a real lack of interest on what WA is all about.

John

Love your post, and success is in the individual that controls it.

Hi Michael,

This is a great community at WA where I have made a lot of friends. Kyle and Carson have given us all the tools which gives us a chance to build a business, no guarantees.
These type of questions from some new members are totally unfair, if they had done their research this question doesn't get asked.

John

I would just let this go, John. Some people just don't get it, and they never will.

Thank you, Brad.

I have said my bit, but it probably wont sink in and still get asked.

John

This is not a quick rich scheme.

We all know that

Correct Roger, why don't they get it pal !!!

John

Hi Karin,

Some dont I am afraid.

John

Good question.

I've also been on the live chat and amazed what people say. One joined just a few days ago and asked how to make money. He said he was desperate and needs money fast. Ummm.....he is out of luck there! It doesn't sound like he read much about WA before joining.

Yes Karin,

Live chat is an eye opener isn't it. No reading, no research, no method, no interest, not the way to try and run your business to success.
I guarantee, the members asking this question will lose interest very quickly and drop out.

John

Thank you for posting this.

Hi Mel,

It makes my blood boil when members, newbie's mostly are not interested in working hard, to build their website to the best of their ability. Perhaps I am doing it wrong, but enjoy your chosen niche, keep your enthusiasm, continue with all the training etc, and see where it takes you. Keep your focus on good content, STOP thinking about what am I going to earn, I never think about money, because if my website eventually ticks all the right boxes things can fall into place.
Am I wrong. Mel ??

John

Not at all. I am dismayed by the LiveChat air of 'tell me what to do' - Jeebus, this is YOUR business, not mine. I am not going to be the one making any money from it, my great ideas I use in my business. But your right, for me, it's about bringing value to my readers, and because that is first and foremost where my focus is, I am rewarded accordingly.
