New Affiliate Links Problem In WP Editor ?

Hi All Wa friends,

I am hoping one of you clever helpful members will have the answer to my problem. On my latest post in the wordpress editor, it would not allow me to add new affiliate links. This includes all text and images.

I have raised so many affiliate links on previous posts and pages, without any issue. After trying for ages myself, I decided to contact site support who replied saying they put a link on my text and was working ok.

Example 1. Below is how we raise a new affiliate link for the text "Not surprisingly" (This is just an example). As you can see I have chosen the blue circled settings way.

Site Support said they use Google Chrome browser, that is what I use also. So site support could attach a link and I can't. Site support told me to try another browser.

Using Internet explorer browser, raising a new affiliate link worked, therefore something in my settings on Google Chrome is blocking my linking process on wordpress editor. I went on my wife's laptop who also has Google Chrome for her browser, creating a link on my wife's laptop worked also.

Example 2. Below is the next part to creating a link for text "Not surprisingly" now clicking on the blue circled add link.

My laptop for some unknown reason is the problem, why ??? I uninstalled Google Chrome, re-installed it but links still not being created. I have always used Google Chrome as my browser and never had any problem creating affiliate links on any of my pages or posts until now.

Example 3. To have the correct link, below's blue circled text should be now highlighted in blue. BUT IT IS NOT, and it is still the normal black text with the flashing cursor at the right hand side of the letter "y".

Been trying to sort this out for ages now, strangely enough I managed to create a new affiliate link while being on my Google Chrome browser. I will show you, we have 2 ways to raise affiliate links in wordpress editor, I got it to work the one way BUT still not the other, how can this be ???

Example 4. If I raise the new link by putting the URL in the way below and clicking on the blue circled apply button, THIS WORKS and the text gets highlighted in blue, as it should do. Why does it work in wordpress editor correctly this way but not the other way as described above ???
