Facebook Is Very Anti-Social

Hi All WA friends,

Facebook is so frustrating, being a social media site they seem to obstruct publishers like ourselves.

I was sending a post to all my groups I have joined, about 15 to 20 groups in total. We have a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, and a company I am an affiliate for has a special offer on over this bank holiday weekend.

You can only post to groups individually on Facebook, after about 6 posts I had the following message :-

Hopefully you can read it ok, this has happened to me before. Last night I posted to all my groups on Facebook without a problem, Facebook tell me it could be hours or days before I am unblocked. This is no help to me as the offer only lasts until Monday night.

6 posts and I am blocked, for a social media site it is very anti-social and pathetic. Have any of you guys had this problem ?? I think Paul Goodwin has been sent to "jail" a few times but I think my problem is a seperate issue to his.

Let me know your thoughts on Facebook, as they sure know how to stop us from giving out legitimate posts.

Thank you,

John

Thanks for the heads up.

Not a problem, John

They seem to be very strict on sharing posts.

John

Thanks John, good to know.

Just be careful with Facebook, Harvey.

John

I've had this issue as well. So what I did, I boosted one or two of my posts - which is a paid service - and at the same time, I did the other free methods - groups, etc - to promote as well.

Behold! Facebook let me do the exact same thing they had restricted me for before I used some of their paid services. Interesting isn't it?

Very interesting, Andy.

Surprising what a paid boost service can offer including changing the rules.

John

My thinking is that in using Facebook one needs to be clear of two things:

* The actual purpose of all of the elements of Facebook including Groups.
* Facebook is not anything except a Public Company and the job of the CEO and Board is to increase shareholder value.

All of Facebook's decisions come from those two elements (not from the "real news" not from being "socialists", not from "I don't like Facebook".

One must be very careful ones actions are not considered "spamming groups".

I Post to no more than 10 Groups a day with a day's gap sometimes. Also I do not Post all 10 at a time but during the day in groups of two or three. I teach the same thing to people that I am mentoring for their Social Media.

Cheers, William.

Thank you, William.

I think what you say is the only way to go in the future. But my main problem is, sometimes I get a special bank holiday weekend offer on a Thursday or Friday to post for this weekend. These advertisers don't give you any pre warning or notice.

John

Yeah sometimes it isn't fair.. Facebook has a built in mechanism that if you are going so fast at any specific activity.. It may detect it as Spam or Bot.. So I do five or six at a time.. stop, go do something else.. come back, periodically finish up my posts.. Hope this helps..

Hi Abie,

Totally understand what you are saying, I will have to do the same from now on. I thought Facebook would have a better system in matters like this.

John

I don't post very often in groups, did not join so many, as I don't like facebook either... Already the begging for likes is a thing I don't like...
But I am still testing it as I get more traffic to my sites through it and, as I wrote in one of my blogs, I got the first customer through facebook, too.

Facebook is like Big Brother... :D

Thank you, Gerlinde.

It is just like Big Brother with a stick, to knock you down if you are doing too much on Facebook. There rules and systems are not the best.

John

Yes, but William is right: if we say " I don't like Facebook" it won't work... I have to work on that... :D

Yes I am going to do things as William mentions, very slowly and spaced out.

John

Many people don't like marketers. There have been so much fishing by MLM companies that Facebook has to have some action. My Facebook advertising budget is only $500 per month. We do lots of video. One of my people from Bangladesh accidentally used a copyrighted soundtrack for our Valentine's Day promotion and we were blocked for a day. Facebook is a good source of revenue for me. They do have some picky guidelines in some cases but it's to keep Facebook from being abused.

Hi Jay,

If I was posting a lot all at once then I could understand, but 6 posts and I get blocked, in fact it was 5 posts and the sixth was blocked.
I know Facebook have had a lot of really bad press lately, they are having to be careful for a while.

John

You are lucky that a cost is not affix to this.

Need to change how I approach Facebook in the future.

John

Based on a lot of stuff on the news (the REAL news)Facebook IS becoming VERY anti-social as they try to get totally socialistic!

Totally agree, Mickey.

They have had real bad press including on the main tv news bulletins. Facebook have brought this on themselves, will take more care when using them in the future.

John

All of those bad things we all hear about Facebook confirms my decision not to have an account.

Wise decision pal, I think Facebook is more trouble than it's worth.

John

You got that right!

I hate all social media, it's a necessary evil, I have to learn to live with it

Thank you, Loes.

I totally agree with you, trying to use Facebook for all the correct reasons and they don't like it. So frustrating.

John
