Banned By Facebook Again !

Hi All WA friends,

I seem to be in competition with Paul Goodwin regarding Facebook, he gets suspended for 2 weeks and I get suspended for 2 days.

Facebook are awful to be busy with, especially if you post to many groups. The more you post, the more likely you will be suspended for posting spam. They then sarcastically ask, if I disagree with this, I can send them a reply.

I replied saying "this post is not spam, I am posting an offer to my sporting groups. Of all social media you are the worst". Facebook doesn't listen, they are a law unto themselves, asking you to reply if you think your post should not have been deleted.

But in the next breath, Facebook inform us that the ban will never be overturned, so why ask if they are mistaken, to let them know ??

In my opinion if you have joined a lot of groups, posting to all of them at once is impossible. If you don't want to get suspended, post to your groups a few at a time, very tedious and long winded.

If you write new content regularly, posting to your groups is very awkward. After writing your 2nd post you are still slowly sharing your 1st post to your groups.

As you can tell Facebook does not seem to like us affiliate marketers, yet they are very happy to charge us to promote our posts.

I hope you have better luck with Facebook, if you post a lot to your groups all at once and don't get suspended, please share how you do it.

Thank you,

John

At first I thought it was Paul when I saw the heading and then I noticed your name lol. You two are going to be in that facebook jail together eventually.

I don't have lots of groups that I post to so have been ok so far but I do keep it in the back of my mind to watch when I am posting.

2 days are not as bad as Paul's 2 weeks lol. xx

Thank you, Cheryl.

It is really nice today in the North of Scotland, yes I am going to end up with Paul in Facebook jail. Although I would be learning too many bad tricks from a villain getting banned for 2 weeks. Lol !!
Just be aware that Facebook can be very frustrating. xx

John

It is lovely here in Penicuik too John.

Oh dear can't have you learning bad habits from Paul, that just wouldn't do. I'm sure Paul likes the taste of the food in there and that is why he keeps being bad so he can go back lol

I know it can be very frustrating, you really need to watch what you are doing while on it.

How is Jess doing?

Have a great afternoon John. xxx

Jess is doing fine, thank you.
She finishes her pain killers tomorrow, hopefully she wont be back in pain and need more. Her dressing has to be changed every 3 days and it is supposed to be kept dry.
Everyone here is very kind and always asks about the dogs, especially if one is not well.
Is Penicuik part of Edinburgh ??
I think Paul prefers jail food to home food !!!!!

John

Glad to hear Jess is ok John and as you say hopefully she won't need any more pain killers.

Penicuik is 10 miles outside Edinburgh and it comes under Midlothian.

I think so too John lol. xx

I'm not at this stage yet, but I was lucky last year when I posted a link to a fundraising form, in individual messages, to over half the people on my friends list. Eventually after a couple of hundred, FB stopped me from being able to post the link. But didn't ban me, and I was able to post to a couple of hundred more the next day and didn't get banned. I guess I was just lucky.

Posting individually must have taken you hours ?? I looked into posting on Facebook to all friends in one hit but Facebook don't allow that.

John

Yes, MANY hours! Exactly, - FB didn't allow me to do it in one or a few hits, and I knew I needed to turn to friends first, to get some guarantee of funds and give authenticity and traction to the campaign, otherwise it wasn't going to get donations, and I needed to get that cat rescued and treated NOW, not in a few weeks when he would have died a slow and painful death, (given that his bone was exposed and he was scraping it on the ground). So yes, the first night, I think I started at about 9pm and I was still sat there at 7am the next morning sending individual messages! It was a lot of hard work and stress, and that was only the beginning of what would become months of recovery. But I did it, and I'm so glad I did.

Wow Heather !!!!!

You are an absolute star, that is what I call dedication. Rafael is sooooooooo lucky to have you.

John

Aww thanks! Well my soul just cracked when I saw him and the condition he was in. I couldn't even do anything for him in the moment, so I just said I'm going to do whatever it takes, and somehow I will help that cat! It was an immense amount of stress though, I'll tell you. I'd only just arrived in the country, I had no resources of my own, didn't even know where there was a vets, no place to take him. And the first vet tried the prosthetic but they should have advised amputation early on when it was clear his skin was just not going to heal over the stump. (And that was because he had a dodgy liver, caused by the trauma, which was really slowing down his healing, among other issues) Instead, he was having hospital stays on and off for about 4 months, until finally, after the stump just exploded one evening due to a fistula caused by the pressure, I took him elsewhere. I was a in a right panic the whole time though, as I had to move to another place just so I could house him somewhere when he was discharged, couldn't find a new home for him where I was sure he'd be safe and happy, and soon my 10 month stay was coming to an end and I was supposed to be leaving the country! And I did not have funds to bring him with me. Finally a friend came forward, (who, handily, is a vet by profession), who lived 4 hours away and he has him now. I made my TV debut because of Rafael though, the local TV station interviewed me with him, because I was a foreigner, lol. I'll visit him when I can afford to get there again.

What a fantastic story, you should be very proud of yourself. No words can describe what a kind caring thing you did.

John

Thank you.

Wow, good for you! I am so glad it worked. I retweet cats that are on the kill lists every night on Twitter trying to get them homes. Cats are my niche.

Nice one Jessica. Maybe I could do a guest post about Rafael for you at some point if it would help your business.
Rafa inspired me to write a series of children's stories featuring a character based on him. It's going to take probably at least a year before they're ready, but I'm hoping they help to alter perceptions in his country a bit, because truly caring for pets is not currently a big part of the culture, let's say. It's a different mindset. : /

So what country was this?

My niche is cat health and behavior products. I hope to help people afford and feel comfortable taking care of more stray pets by making them aware of alternative treatments for common conditions. One supplement I review is so effective my veterinarian now recommends it to all her patients as well. It is to prevent tooth and gum disease so cleaning and extractions under anesthesia can be avoided or minimized.

Yes, you could do a guest post. I have not had any guest posts yet but I want to.

I don't post any of the cats needing homes on my website, that is just on Twitter. I just feel like I need to do something to try to help them.

It's great to do that. You never know who you are inspiring to get a rescue kitty! :)
It was when I was doing a stint in Chile.

I belong to 46 groups in my niche and I can and do post to all of them, sometimes all in one day, and I have never been banned by Facebook in the past 2 years of doing this.

Then again I do not post to them all at once. I post to each one one at a time. Going through all 46 will take me about 30 minutes, almost 2 groups per minute.

If you are getting banned it could be that you are posting the same link and never do so all at once. When I post to my 46 groups I never post the same thing more than 3 times. I always post a variety of different links.

That is good to know, thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Rob.

That is great advice pal !!!

You have answered my problem, when I have finished a new post, I try and share this same post with my website link to all my groups.
I will have to mix it up and share other posts, eventually returning to my initial post.

John

Just be wary of Facebook.

John

You are welcome.

My pleasure John.

They use to block the profiles that post the same content in different groups. There is a chance, also, that someone reported you. But at the end, "...it's all about money, it's all about tm tm tdd dm, I don't think it's funny...". They do that so you can open a paid campaign.

Thank you, Anita.

You are spot on, in fact our beloved leader Kyle said they are pushing me into their ad boost campaigns at a cost. Facebook are a nightmare to post on.

John

Of course. But I consider that they have oposite result of what they want to achieve. At least in my case.

Sorry for your recent ban, but you need to thread these waters more carefully. Read my post, maybe this post and the many great comments will help you John.

That was very informative. Thanks!

Ah, so THAT'S how you found my article Jessica!
Well, glad you did, because I wrote it for some specific friends here who are getting banned.

Don't want to see that!

Thank you, Kaju.

Sound advice, slowly, slowly catch a monkey !!!
That is a lot of things to watch out for.

John

Am sorry John that this had to happen and at the same time, it's an eye opener to us. Next time I will be extra careful.

Actually I realised that when I share affiliate links on Facebook, they don't appear to my friends as normal posts do. I think it's because they would like me to pay for the ads.

Hope this is resolved soonest.

Thank you, Paul.

Yes, Kyle has commented they are pushing me down the paid ads route.
It is like treading on egg shells !!!

John

STILL, another good reason to stay away from FaceBook!

Hi Mickey,

I am starting to hate Facebook as much as you pal !!!!
Not worth the effort and time.

John

Yeah, my wife, son, daughters and just about everyone I know spends all of their computer time there and they don't even promote anything

sorry to hear , but it will pass

I am sorry to say this is why I am not even bothering with Facebook now. I see so many of these problems.

Sorry for you though!

Hi Jessica,

Look at the rules Kaju has written on his blog post "Facebook, Don't Get Banned".
Is it really worth the time and effort, I don't think so. You made the correct decision to stay away from Facebook.

John

I can only imagine how much spam that Facebook has to deal with on a day-to-day basis. If you are submitting consistent offers, I think of that would constitute a spam.

A legitimate promotion can be spam. Are you are free and value on your page outside of consistent offers.

Obviously Facebook would prefer for you to boost your posts and pay them through Facebook ads, So subtly this approach is trying to push you towards payment to get reach within their platform. I suppose this is what happens when you go public and you have investors (profits) to appease.

Sorry to hear you're having deal with this John.

Thank you, Kyle.

It is happening on any of my posts, this last one was promoting a brand new product launched this month. Facebook suspend you for a spam post, then they immediately offer to boost this same post to reach a wider audience for a cost. But I am suspended with the same post because it is spam !!

Yet they want to promote my spam post !!!!!!

You can't please them, if any of our members have lots of groups to post their articles, I wish them all the luck.

John
