Does anyone know how to leverage browser caching for the following cacheable resources:
https://syndication.twitter.com/settings (10 minutes)
http://apis.google.com/j
Hi John. For general browser caching this is normally done by editing the .htaccess file and adding Expires Headers etc.
You can also install plugins like Total W3 Cache etc. but I don't think that it is recommended here by WA. This is because they have site speed enabled and deem it unnecessary... etc.
However, the above will not help for social media related issues, as they are hosted on their servers. Just one of the things we live with.
If you check many popular sites, you will probably see the same thing. You lose a few milliseconds...nothing to worry about unless it was drastic,
I believe you should contact site support to find out if they can better advise you or help with this.

The image below is from the top of my website. I am trying to remove "About John" In the orange section. I originally had about me located here as a post moved to pages.
The orange section is your menu. You can access your menu from your dashboard. Go to Appearance > Menus to make changes there. Menu With Custom Links and Drop Down Non-Clickable Headings

I am having trouble accessing website through Filezilla. Have tried a couple members training but appear to be out of date (not sure if that is the case)
Thanks for you help, had tried everything possible "so I thought"
In the end it was an "extra space" at the end of one of the FTP password, by highlighting the password from the right to left I was able to connect.
Thanks
John

I tried to setup sitemaps in Google console. When I tested it I received the following message.
Can this be changed?
Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Pl
I see that you have found the solution, John. I'll add this for anyone else who might need this answer.
The "html" error usually happens when the sitemap.xml extension is not added to the URL when submitting the sitemap.
In search console Crawl > Sitemaps > Add/Test Sitemap.
The sitemap.xml extension must be added into the URL field, not left blank. See my SCREENSHOT.
If using the XML sitemap plugin instead of the sitemap feature in the All in One SEO, as Marion says, deactivate it in the All in One. The 2 plugins are not compatible.
Not sure why anyone uses a separate XML sitemap plugin when it is already included in All in One SEO pack. ~Jude
Hi marion tried to play your tutorial (1st one) but would not play.
I think I have fixed. I downloaded xml sitemap plugin xml in wordpress, activated it and was able to notify google.
Deactivate any plugins that create sitemaps and use your SEO plugin Sitemap: Using All in One SEO Plugin Sitemap: Using Yoast SEO Plugin Sitemap: Submit to Google Search Console

I bulk optimized 23 images and ended up with multiple copies of the same images. Can these be removed? Do I have to remove one by one?
Thanks for getting back to me LIttlemama with you comment.
It is now 1:40 Sunday and have spent the last five hours trying to figure out the problem. Finally figured it was not alignment or spacing issue. It had to be something to do with the image itself, so I removed the image and selected a different image resized, and all is fine now.
John
Here's doozie, Image alignment when viewing preview of my site, one image is out of line, although in post editing everything is fine. What is causing this and how do i rectify?
Your second image is too close to the first image, so you can add more spacing by moving the "Why Am I Doing This" title down a couple of times.
Hi John, you can space these out by separating your paragraphs more or go into Edit mode and move it down more. You may have to delete it and add again. Personally, I would add extra spaces between your paragraphs and subheadings, but that is just me.
Thank you for responding, hope you noticed I replied to littlemamlittlemama about how i fixed the issue.
John
Sorry, no I didn't because the question was submitted to me in email for ambassador question credit. Plus you only did a regular reply posting to her instead of reply in her comment.
I see your response now, yeah I didn't know you replied either because it was a new msg instead of "reply" to my msg. :). Good you got it figured out.
Don't touch them. Just leave all the images in your Media Library as WordPress needs to access the appropriate size when it's serving up images on your pages.
