What is the best way to work from home? In this GREAT community everybody works from home, right? What are your best way (or ways) to get the work done?

I was a complete beginner when I first started learning here at WA (I still feel new) and this HAS TO BE THE BEST PLACE to learn (and earn) if you are a beginner.

WA teach us EVERYTHING here, byt some things we have to learn on our own... Like disipline for example. Disipline to work on our "craft" even if the earnings are going up and everything is going "good".

Me personaly can sometimes get caught up in "side tracks" and "get of track"

How do you stay on track? What is your strategy?

One of the most wounderful things (if not the best) with this community is that the members here are so helpful (THANK YOU) !

This post could actually be a question, but I feel it would be to long :o) So I made it in the form of a blog post :o)

So... Not only for me, but for all beginners who started here yesterday, today and tomorow... Help them, me and you :o)

What are your best advices and ways to work from home?

Let's help eachother to make our strategy better in 2016 than it was last year. There is always room for improvement.

So, what are your best way or ways?

Happy new year!

I have a list of tasks and time frame, also do not answer the phone between certain times, if its an emergency people know to call my mobile

Thank you Katie! Great advice!

The phone can be a real productivity killer! Feels like many people forget about this. I almost always turn of the sound on my phone, maybe you do the same or do you turn it off?

I agree with Katie. To have a plan and a time frame, daily if possible, during which you aim to finish certain tasks, and as you said JohnMiguel, discipline is probably the no.1 commandment in getting things done and going in life. Passion, love and excitement for what you do are important, but will not take you far without the discipline.

So there you go... at least these are my advice, for now, as am still open to any better suggestions too

I could not agree more without structure and discipline time erodes away have a great week and thanks for stopping by

Make sure you have a dedicated space, preferably a private and quiet area. Think of this as your job and treat it like that. Be organized and follow a checklist everyday. Such as, read emails and suggestions. Check your websites. Check your advertising. What needs to change? What can you do to improve your exposure? What ever you think of, is what you should be working on. Ask questions.

Great tips! Thank you VMahony!

John,

I did not know that I needed so much social interaction until I joined W A! I love the network, but do spend a great deal of time here, when I should be researching and writing!
Sami

I know what you mean Sami! It is easy to get caught up in the social life here, EVERYONE is so nice!! It can be very helpful on the other hand, and I don´t recommend to totally ignore the social life here... But most important ofcoure is to follow the training and make money :)

Right?

Thank you Sami

This is my biggest stumbling block. Finding time and sticking to it. It's easy to get side tracked, especially at this time of year and easy to make excuses.

I try and make plans for each day/week and work out when best to work on my sites and the training. One thing I do find time consuming is reading and answering emails. I really try and read and comment on every WA email but it is time consuming also.

Yes this time of year is very hard to get things done... I have only been able to get small work sessions in here and there... If you don't want to receive mails from WA you can turn that function of, and only receive certain stuff that you decide yourself.

I know but I do feel guilty turning the function off. People are so kind to write blogs and posts, I think it is only polite to read them. I don't comment on all of them, I would never get anything done! It is find the right balance. I try to set aside a certain amount of time to read and answer emails and once the time is up that is it - back to work.

Yes I know what you mean... The problem is when you follow many people it is a risk that you might miss some important mail in the hundreds of mail of people writing a new post here for example...

In total agreement with you on the discipline area. I need that BIG TIME. I find myself doing too many things at the same time. Hope you are enjoying the Christmas season, I am.

Yes I know, I guess the thing is that the more you do it the better you get. I mean like building a habit, the more you do one thing the more natural it will come by itself...

I guess it is like the good old saying: Do what you suppose to do, when you supposed to do it, wheter you feel like it or not. :o)

Yes actually I don´t like christmas so much, but soon it is over :o) I wish you a great new year!

Thank you BlessedB!

For me, it is all about scheduling each task and then 100% focus. I have an absolutely insane schedule, and each time "block" gets the priority. For example, if I am in my "pay bills" block, I work on budgeting and nothing else. When I am in "writing" mode, I write; I don't worry about my finances. It was difficult at first because my mind used to wander, but now I find it extremely powerful. My family loves it, too. They know when dad's in work mode to leave me be, because when we're in the family "block" I can give them my complete attention... we go out on dad-date-days and have a blast because I'm not thinking about anything but what they want and having fun :-)

That sounds great James! Looks like you have found the perfect mode or "block" :)

I put in time on this several times a day. Even if I have a severe case of "blog block", or am so tired, I don't comprehend any thing. Many days, very little gets done, but eventually it all adds up.

Many small things eventually adds up to something BIG. Thank you!

I used to get so sidetracked by other online activities....while researching I'd go off on a tangent, etc.....emails turned into following various avenues.....I set alarms for specific tasks....email limits/WA limits, etc.....I also started a journal/log and MADE me look at my behaviours.....this helped me a lot.

Thank you! Great advice! I found myself spending TO MUCH time on WA a period of time actually!! lol! The problem I had was that I sometimes was not so effective... Many times I did more in 1 hour than I did in 3.

How do you stay effective? Maybe the log can help with this?

A log is a GREAT advice, I used to keep one for my workouts, and they did imporove! I have one for WA to but it is more of a "to do" list for my goals of the day... One for behaviours is a really good advice!

I'm the worst parent, boss, coach, trainer EVER when it comes to keeping tabs on myself......lol...I am unrelentless and accept no excuses and because it's me, I can't even run away or 'skip'...lol

Lol :)

My advice would be they just follow the training here, and ask for help from the community if stuck.Wishing them best of luck.

Yes I agree, that would be the most simple advice to give. Thank you!
