I've ask a few questions and do not know where to get answers,

Hi there I sell physical products on amazon and have a business account. If I create an amazon affiliate site how would I get paid would it go through the same process and normal sales kind regards

Dear All,

Please can I ask for feedback on my website?

I have taken some interesting feedback from a community member and I could really use a second opinion.

My site is http://successfulaffiliatemaketing.com and the feedback is like this:

START
To me, I'm slightly lost. For example, your giving me too much choice of affiliate programs whilst at the same time massively pushing WA in your advertising.

I would focus on one affiliate program (WA) letting your audience know there is others available but your preference is WA or whichever program you chose.

Overall
Overall I think the site is really clean, but would strip back 90% of the visual selling and product promotions and exchange it for stories about how you've used products to help you overcome your struggles and include the result.

END

My focus is whether I should be continuing as I am or changing my approach completely. The point is, the WA training is all about offering other options while pushing WA product, so have I got something wrong?

Is it a balance thing or do I need to rethink my whole site?

I really hope that some of you more experienced marketers can advise me on my next move.

Thanking you in advance.

Carl

Instead of pushing the WA product let people know what it can do for them. Let them make the decision. You're just here to put on their radar and let them stand what it is WA has to offer. It's called the soft sell.

Labman,
Thanks for your input, I will try to understand how I can modify my CTAs to reflect a softer sell. This soft sell idea does seem to go against the training, where Kyle encourages us to write wth 'intent'.

Perhaps I need to find a balance?

cheers

Dear All,

Thank you to everyone who has replied and helped me out.

There is one more issue I would like to start a discussion about, perhaps you can tell me the best way to go about this.

The meat of the issue is some very in-depth feedback I have received about my site. I have taken the feedback very seriously but don't know if I should act on it.

Basically, I would like a second and third opinion from experienced marketers.

The main concern is the feedback that tells me that I offer too many options while at the same time pushing WA hard. The reader feels he is beeing 'sold' to.

Well, ok that's fine I thought. This is exactly what the training has taught me to do right?

Now, I feel that I'm at a crossroads and need to make a decision about continuing as I am, or rethinking and rewriting my site.

So there you have it in a nutshell. This is my question.

Can anyone suggest who and where I can ask for an objective 2nd and 3rd opinion? I can not do this in the feedback area because it does not allow for adding notes to the request for feedback.

Thank you all in advance for your kind advice.

Kind Regards

Carl

You can ask/post another question in the search bar on top and ask for feedback. That is what I did to get more input from members.

I will do just that :o)
thanks

Hi Everyone, I have a question about sitemaps.

The idea of the site map is a simple concept, I get it, I really do, but now I am confused. If I go to http://myurl.com/sitemap.xml I see I have 6 sitemaps.... eh?!

Now if I go to google and take a look I see all the 6 sitemaps with their submitted and indexed numbers against them.

Please see the attached screenshots.

I have two questions.
1. How did I manage to have 6 sitemaps?
2. Are they doing any harm and should I delete any of them?

I would love for someone to 'unconfuse' me :o)

Thanks, I look forward to an answer.

carl

Hi Carl,

Your sitemaps are automatically generated for google and what you see is perfectly normal.

Basically there is a sitemap of your posts, pages, attachments, authors, categories, etc.

No harm to your site and it helps google to understand what your site is all about.

Hope this helps!

Best,
JV

Carl, sitemap generators look at a website and create maps for different items. Look at the table and you will see: sitemap_addl, sitemap_post, etc. These are all different and contain information relative to the particular item. (I would like to say category, but there is a category sitemap.)

In the All-In-One SEO, you can select how your site maps will be created. I generally only select the post and page type. My understanding is the others do not do much if anything for your SEO scores. Hopes this helps. Regards, Alex

Hi JV,

Thank you so much for your answer. My mind is now at rest :o)

Carl

Hi Alex,

Thanks for you comprehensive answer, I feel much better now :o)

Can you have two niches on the same website, example- Loose weight, Gain muscle or tone your body on the subject of health? It is asking what classroom and I'm thinking keyword,

It would be better if you stuck to one niche, focusing on more than 1 on one given domain can definitely complicate things and may make it harder for you to get unique visitors.

Yes, Good reasoning thank you makes good sense, Thank you and nice hearing from you.

No problem, anytime :)
