My first 5 months at Wealthy Affiliate
Hello WA Community,
Thank you all for the support and education ever since I've joined Wealthy Affiliate. Initially I was a bit skeptical about Wealthy Affiliate at first. Who could blame me? I was looking at the $99/month Clickfunnels, then Dan shared with me about Weatlhy Affiliate. He seemed genuinely interested in helping, so I joined. I got good help from BarryBullard and many others since then...thank you!
- My progress thus far
I've taken a week off this week to work on the design and look of my website.
So it's taken me 5 months to get it ready for release. Here it is:https://johnjstanley.com
I have 3 posts and my about me. So I need many more posts.
- My niche that I am working within
NICHE: use Facebook successfully for Network Marketers. I already had an eBook develped prior to WA. Though I am expanding this to Help Network Marketers build online, through providing value.
- Any successes (not just financial, but things I am proud of)
I have created 3 quality posts
With a lot of help from OptimizePress support, I was able to get the websits looking appealing as a starter.
I am enjoying learning the skills. Almost completed Certification 2, Lesson 10!
- Major CHALLENGES I face
I work in Government so am not supposed to be seen to be conducting a business. So I face some challenges in that if I get seen in my home city then I could face problems. This has me concerned a little to go public on the following:
1. Googe+
2. YouTube - as this is public, however I feel that in order to build trust that this would be necessary. My niche already has some public figures harnessing video so I may be limited here?
3. Similarly my Facebook - can't really post about my website there?
- My PLANS and goals in the upcoming 3 months
1. I really have to consider if I am going to go along with Niche #1 WITHOUT the YouTube video, Google+ and Facebook and try to get ranked on Google without those traffic/SEO sources
2. OR just run the risk and HAVE A STORY prepared if I get seen. Go full-on with all the traffic to build my following e.g. YouTube video, Google+ and Facebook
3. OR Move onto my 2nd niche - to target Gen Y cubicle slaves/entrepreneurs - probably in the make money online space, even promote Wealthy Affiliate.
Any comments or suggestions/ideas on these CHALLENGES and PLANS would be welcomed. Thank you

I personally would recommend that you focus on creating ONE successful website, before you move into another.
There is going to a natural tendency if you get into the habit of "moving on" to jump from site to site, sitting in the state of mediocrity.
Become great at ONE thing, then you have the formula for success down and you can diversify. :)
Hi Kyle, its been a tough decision...but I feel I have lost passion for Network Marketing BUT gained passion for affiliate marketing. I had been struggling a bit with writing about something I am not passionate about. We have a 2 year old so I'd much rather fully work from home rather than have to do some of the parts of network marketing that are harder with a young child (attend meetings or video calls or hours on Facebook/Social Media "finding people"). I'll complete the training to Certification 3 (& possible beyond) before moving to the Bootcamp (so my 2nd Niche). I am committed to WA and see great potential.
Amazing John. You have made incredible progress i just 3 months and produced a very professional looking website. I think your header and branding is awesome. You will soon be rolling with your new business and I wish you well as you continue to grow it.
