Hi,
I want to transfer my website to another hosting service provider, how do I do it?
Thanks,
JG
Hey John,
Sorry to hear that you are contemplating leaving WA. The price of hosting here is soooo much less than many other provider, especially given that SSL certificates are included, along with the BEST security any hosting server offers anywhere.
Here's what I use whenever moving any website: The Easiest Way to Move Your Site to Wealthy Affiliate The domain name, you could have your new hosting provider transfer your domain registration for you. That might be the easiest way. They may even be able to transfer all of your WordPress files over to their server too... as some hosts provide that level of service, so I've been told.
When you backup your website using the plugin noted above, you will ALWAYS have an entire copy of your website, so you won't have to worry about losing ANYTHING if there are any issues.
Hope you find this helpful.

I run out money. I am wondering if I can freeze my account then come back after several months.

SO guys
let me get this clear as lots of varying info is flowing here
When you leave after 60 days the account is removed and no longer backed up by WA.
DEFUNCT?
Question:
Does it mean you can return and replug your backup to regain site and all its features [of course as a member again]
or am i getting the the wrong drift?
Chris
Your WA account will not be deleted, you just can not access it while you are not a paying member. When you return to the same account and start paying again, if it is within 60 days then your website can be restored from a backup. If it is over 60 days you would have to restore your website from your own backup.
Then your site is not backed up anymore unless you move it to another host or back it up your self
If you will be gone longer than 60 days, then you will need to have your own backup to restore your websites from when you return. Unless you have migrated your website to another host while you were away, then you can just migrate it back again when you return. You can be away for 2, 6, 10 years if you want (although, technology changes and the backup might not be valid after 10 years!)
cool cool cool. Thanks for answering.
Yeah, that is what Im thinking. Migrating to a simple hosting website with less fee for the time being until I get more traffic.
I've been on WA for a while now but still no income (not blaming WA for that because they are technically an education site. I also did a lot of work on myside so I can't blame myself either. )
Anyways thanks for answering!
One last, by backing up, you mean exporting your Wordpress files right?
Backing up means more than just the builtin export feature. You will want to use a plugin such as the All in One WP Migration , as that will backup your files, page, posts, media library, themes, plugins and database etc.
First, create backups of your website(s) as they will be removed from the servers as soon as your membership expires. Cancel Wealthy Affiliate Membership and Stop Billing https://marionblackonline.com/wealthy-affiliate-faqs/
You can go back to your original account at any time, but be aware that your website(s) cannot be restored after 60 days. Don't take chances, BACK UP.
If you cancel your membership or stop paying then your account will be suspended until you return, yes.
You will lose all access to WA, as you can not go back to being a Starter Member, and your website(s) will go offline.
WA only keep your websites in backups for up to 60 days though. So you will want your own backup before you leave, or if you can, migrate them to another web host.
You can return with the same account, yes, so you will not lose your training activity or network of friends etc.

Hi,
I just started using WA's web email. I am just wondering if it is safe from being hacked?
Regards,
JG
Thank you for asking this question - i just learned an answer to a question later as i move forward
thanks again
Hey John,
It is recommended that we use our domain email addresses by forwarding them to a gmail account where we can easily setup our domain emails to be used from gmail.
Here's how: How To Use Your Gmail Account For Your WA Email Addresses This way, security is really not an issue.
Hope you find this helpful.
WA have been going for 15 years and I’m not aware of any hacks affecting their email platform. They use the same security on their servers as they do for their websites.

Is there an alternative to MetaSlider if you don't want to activate the plugin to your site?
Hey John,
Google searching your needs, I found one straight away. See screen print below...
What is it about the MetaSlider plugin that you don't like? Am curious as I am using that plugin on one of my client's websites and it has been prefect for over 5 years now.
Hope you find this helpful.

Hi All,
Just curious what social media you focus on? Why and are you getting results?
Regards,
John Greg
Hey John,
I'm just getting into social media.
i recently setup Facebook Page but I'm focusing more on Pinterest. Jay has really excellent webinars on Pinterest for the whole month of February. Definitely worth looking into. I'm on the second video and to me, Pinterest is more exciting than Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram but that's my opinion.
Monica
Pinterest is great for blog traction which is one thing it is designed for. Behind YouTube it's my secondary channel
Cool, thanks, Dave. I really do want to learn YouTube so that's definitely on my agenda. I see you've been doing exceptionally well on YouTube. Good job there.
Monica
Interesting question. Over the years I've not succeeded much on social media, apart from my dedicated Facebook page where I occasionally get a booking. Minimal though.
The best benefit I have had is that Google counts these toward ranking in their algo's.
That's the only reason I'm still doing it. I would be interested to know if anyone on WA has a different experience.
I'm not promoting my blog yet, less than 20 articles so far. But I am on social media and Facebook is my focus right now. That's because of the community and the features that I find useful in getting to know people, including video, interacting, adding friends and private messages all in one place.
YouTube and Pinterest right now.
Video allows me to share my personality and be liked and trusted. Pinterest is a search engine, and more category focused than Google.
I am getting traffic, but not much engagement.
Thanks for asking.
Youtube is my second biggest traffic source after the search engines. Creating two videos a week and targeting long-tail keywords seems to be working.
Trust this helps :)
Martin
For example, I have a video ranking for How To Earn Bitcoin Fast and Easy 2020 which is my long tail keyword. If I tried to rank for just Bitcoin I would not get many views as its too competitive.
If you go to Youtube and search bitcoin I do not come up but if you search How To Earn Bitcoin Fast and Easy 2020 I am no1 in the youtube rankings.
Trust this helps :)
