Site Speed affects SEO. Do you take care of it?
Site Speed is really important for SEO because Google knows your reader will have a bad experience if you have a slow site thus Site Speed affects your SEO.
Unfortunately, mine is pretty slow and can't figure out why my site is so slow.
My Question are:
- What is your site speed?
- What do you do to keep it fast?
- What you should do to make it faster?
You can Google GTMETRIX then type your URL on the bar if you don't know how to check it.

Have not tried the GTMETRIX, way yet, actually am not sure how to go about it. Perhaps later on this evening I will find out more.
Just did a site speed check within the WA dashboard/google analyse.
Desktop: 90-100
Mobile: 78-86
I think I remember Jay once saying embedding a video should not affect site speeds, but all the sites with a video score low.
I am thinking of just posting the video URL, without the video itself. This takes away some of the appeal of that page I know, but mobile speeds are so important.
Size of images, videos and plugins are all factors that affect site speed. I keep experimenting with plugins, as I would like to see my mobile speed's to all be in the green.

Yeah I did the speed check within the WA dashboard and it seems my site is okay but my scores are really bad if I use other sites, speed checkers.
I tried to change my theme, I did optimize my images over and over again and clear my cache but the fastest I can get is low 80s for desktop while high 60s on my mobile.
sigh.

If you don't mind PM me the plugins you are using. Perhaps working together we can get those speeds up. Pretty sure we can increase your desktop speeds in the 90's at least.

When you get into your WA dashboard: well this is the way I do it.
I click on websites, next site manager. On top you will see site details where you can find the health aspects of your site. Below that you will another details button. I know you have been there before. Here you go to your site speed columns. One you can just do a refresh or you can click on the Big G which where it will go to a different screen and google will analyse your desktop and mobile site speeds, also on that page there will be suggestions.
On top you will see the X to close that page then it will bring you back to your WA dashboard. Click on the refresh button, and it will give you the google results.
I am sorry I know I get carried away with my explanations. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks Jeff, will search for them and read through. This idea of part timing on WA is making me miss on many things. I really long for the day I will go full time here. pray for me.

I wonder what are those. I tried to keep my plug-ins to a minimum so it won't interfere with my site.
I keep a close check on my sites for speed John. I always check before and after adding a new plug in. If it drops for any reason I check through various things to find the cause.

My site has been low since is starting using Adsense. I wonder if that is a cause
What do you use to check your speed?
Hmmm. I am not aware Adsense may slow down your site since it is just a bunch of codes that you need to copy and paste but don't quote me on that. I might be wrong.
