Hello WA Friends!

Just writing a short blog to encourage you to do and/or finish Affiliate Marketing Bootcamp - Phase 4: Lesson 2 of 10 and Affiliate Marketing Bootcamp - Phase 4: Lesson 8 of 10.

This lesson is about leveraging Pinterest to drive traffic to your blog and/or to Wealthy Affiliate - be sure to use your affiliate link when linking to get that referral!

Background on Social Media Marketing

There are two ways to market your content/blog. The traditional strategy is through SEO while the emerging strategy is SEM or Search Engine Marketing.

In SEO strategy, we use keywords so our blog may land top 10 on Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.'s search engine results page (S.E.R.P.). This strategy may take a while before our articles/site are placed on page 1 of S.E.R. P because there are many competing articles and some of them are more qualified in terms of S.E.O.

A complementary strategy that can be used alongside with SEO strategy is SEM strategy or Search Engine Marketing. Unlike in SEO where our customers find us, in SEM, we find the customers through organic and paid advertising.

Why Do We Want to Use Social Media, Such as Pinterest to Drive Traffic to Our Blog and to WealthyAffiliate?

In one of our training lessons here at Wealthy Affiliate, we learned that we need to drive traffic to our website (and we need lots of it) to monetize our blog. It is also nice to drive traffic to Wealthy Affiliate using our affiliate link so our readers can see the excellent product and services for themselves.

As explained earlier, we have to use both SEO and SEM to accomplish this feat. I personally have a Facebook page for my wealthbuildertips blog. I also created a Pinterest account as per the lesson that I linked above.

Of the two, I would say using Pinterest to build a following and to drive traffic to my site and WA is way easier and way more fun than Facebook.

Results

In just a matter of weeks, I am able to achieve 600+ monthly viewers, 38 monthly engagement, and gain 235 followers!

How did I do that?

I just followed Kyle's instructions which is the following:

1. Create an account (make sure to take your time on writing your profile/about you)
2. Create a niche-related board in your Pinterest
   
3. Pin niche-related content to your board.

This is so easy, I am able to achieve the metrics mentioned above while playing Assasin's Creed and NBA 2k19. I do my "pinning" in between load times!

What's Next?

I am planning to create my own Pin instead of Pinning others on my board. I will then linked those pins to my blog or to Wealthy Affiliate.

I will be using Canva to create Pinterest Graphics. If you haven't heard Canva yet, then this is the best time to look at it. Simply type "Canva" on Google.

As you can see in the image below, Canva provides us with "Pinterest Graphics" templates. These templates can be (or should be) customize to fit our needs. Pinterest Graphics is the image that you will use for our Pins so make sure the image is eye-catching and the text is thought-provoking.
